I nodded, sipping my cup while my eyes were roaming around, checking if Dad was looking at us, but he was talking to Zach and the others.
“Thank you,” I told him as I lowered my coffee. “For helping Zach.”
“I did what any responsible human would.”
“I still want to say thank you.”
“Your freckles are more prominent when you have nothing on your face.” He said out of nowhere.
“Oh,” I gasped and felt my face burning, so I dropped my gaze to my coffee.
I hated my freckles. Nikka and I were identical, but she had clearer skin, while I had light freckles. I don’t usually wear heavy makeup, but I covered them up all the time.
