I can feel my hands shaking as I pushed the door opened. And right there, there was Ellaine and Daevon together. Coincidentally, his eyes roamed to look at me and immediately distanced himself from his girl. “H-Honey,” he called out. Slowly, a bitter smile crept in to my face, “For the second time, you ruined me,” I mumbled and quickly turned away from them and ran. I quickly headed towards the elevator down to ground floor to fetch my car. Tears started rolling down my cheeks despite me wiping them over and over. I pulled my car door opened and closed it. For one last time, I looked at the building before starting the engine.

Seraphine pressed her hand against her sternum as if to steady her heart, but the voices rose in unison, circling her thoughts like vultures. Daughter of ruin. Vessel of flame. Do you think love will cleanse what you are? She flinched. The words carried weight—personal, almost knowing. It was not the vague mockery of shadows; this was intimate, precise. Riven heard nothing, she realized. His brows furrowed, but his expression remained resolute, untouched by the assault flooding her mind. It was hers alone to endure. Still, he studied her intently, and that unwavering focus anchored her more than his strength ever could. He saw her, not her ruin, not her power—just her.

She brushed dirt from her cheek and stared at Kael, eyes blazing. “**I broke it.**” He lowered his sword, a wry smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “**You were… not supposed to—**” Rin cut him off, her voice low but fierce. “**I was never supposed to be anything.**” She turned her gaze back to the shattered altar, to the broken symbols scattered across the ground, to the cultists huddled in the shadows, their faces a mixture of fear and awe. “**If you want a miracle, go find another altar.**”

Like a fine thread that once bound us so tightly, now frayed and fragile. She wasn’t fleeing as fast as she could have. As if... she was waiting. Or maybe... leaving was too heavy. And when I finally found her, she was standing at the edge of a shadowy cliff—the crumbling ruins of an old temple behind her. “Rue,” I called out, soft but sharp. Her body tensed. But she didn’t turn. The night wind blew through her long hair, creating a silhouette that was both sorrowful… and familiar. “I didn’t come to fight.”

Before she could even finish the first phrase, a blast of hot air hit her, sending her careening into the small space beneath the overhang. Her head connected with the rock, hard, and she felt a warm trickle of blood streaming down her face. She turned to see Raven approaching, fast, a triumphant look on her face. Her hair hadn’t recovered from the shock of earlier, and her outfit was also set askew, but her eyes were wild. Ru jumped to her feet. “I don’t have time for this shit,” she mumbled.

But it was removed a day before I was given away to Soren. I can escape this one. I run forward, grabbing onto the metal and pulling myself up. My foot slips. Shit. It’s slippery. I fall back hard, pain shooting through my side. I grit my teeth and try again, managing to get higher this time. A sharp metal pierces my skin and I whimper. But there is no backing out. I didn’t come this far to retreat. “You’re dumb if you think you can make it over that gate without getting killed.”

Elena "Do I look like sin itself or what?" I muttered to my reflection in the mirror, adjusting the deep V neckline of the blood red dress which was clinging to my curves like a second skin. The slit on the side stopped just beneath my panties, if not then higher. I looked like a walking sin. The kind of sin that begged to be touched, bitten, ruined. I looked perfect, if not then better.

O my I gained the courage to walk out, closing the door behind me, I ashamedly looked up at Gemma as she gave me a knowing look. "Baby girl, you are so screwed now." For the first time, Gemma was right. I am screwed. ~~~
