With a final, forceful strike, Asha broke through his guard, her blade finding its mark. Varek stumbled back, his hand going to his side, blood staining his fingers.
For a moment, he stared at her, his expression unreadable. Then, with a slow, deliberate motion, he lowered his sword and nodded.
“Do what you must, Frostheart,” he said, his voice heavy with finality. “But know that the crown will never stop. No matter what you do, we will always rise again.”
