“Can we come inside?”
Olena paused and glanced at Zinnia, silently asking. Zinnia hesitated, then gave a small nod.
“You can come in,” she said quietly.
The two strangers stepped inside, carrying a woven basket between them. Inside, bright apples, ripe cherries, and clusters of grapes.
“We… we both wanted to give you these.” One of the girls pushed the basket forward, her gaze fixed on Olena.
Olena frowned in confusion but reached out, accepting the fruit. “Sorry,” she asked cautiously, “but who sent you?”
