His Catastrophic Obsession

His Catastrophic Obsession

Especially when I know that the butler’s children and grandchildren would have a sniper on them at all times. The temperature in the house was hot, a hint that I had just stepped into hell. I didn’t look at the interior because it was blinding and would most definitely be hideous. All I wanted to do was sleep. It was a rollercoaster of a day for me. Burying my father, discovering my mother’s infidelity, getting married and moving in with someone your father hated, all of these in one day! I needed to be alone, so I whispered “Where is my room?” My voice felt strange, so defeated and lifeless.

Between Life and Death: The Bad Blood

Between Life and Death: The Bad Blood

"You're not who I expected to be." The Lieutenant recovered from shock prior to others. I sneered and my eyes twinkled in mischief. "Who I should be, then? A mere fucking selfish bitch? You know, Lieutenant, the apocalypse wasn't an event that would instantly affect the world, but however slowly the epidemic ignited, it would sweep to uncontrollable levels within a month. It's the matter you should focus on, not me."

Being Alive

Being Alive

he trailed off. “In the accident, Adam died right there. I survived. Then Grace called me, crying. She said, that Monica died, giving birth. She had problems and only one of them could have survived. She chose James and killed herself. I lost everything. I was blaming myself for everything. It was my fault. Maybe that’s why Monica died, because she was nervous that Adam wasn’t with her. I am still paying for it. I promised to give James a great life. That’s why I wanted to give him everything. I forgot about you, because I was feeling too guilty to think about anyone else but James. I regretted even coming to this world, because I took away 2 lives in one night.”

Living with His Mark

Living with His Mark

The only indication that he is alive is the slight rising and falling of his chest and the slow heartbeat that can be heard by our advance hearing. When I enter the hallway I am not prepared for what I see. Alpha Christian is huddled on the ground with his knees pressed to his chest, sobs racking his body. “Alpha?” “They kicked me out. Her heart stopped beating and they kicked me out.” His words are laced with anguish. Time stops, time literally stops at his words.

I wish I read this book before I read the 2nd book because the 2nd book isn't finished and hasn't been updated in awhile. If anything can go wrong in a story, it did in this book! The author had me glued to figure out how all these twists and turns were going to work themselves out. Must read!!

CEO MEETS HER

CEO MEETS HER

I forgot to ask him this a while ago. He chuckled. “I live alone.” Then he went out of the car. “What?!” I thought. Calm down, Heather. He does not look like a bad guy, right? He opened the door for me. His residence is big. It looks like a bachelor’s pad. Those sleek, effortless looking pad houses in the movies? It literally looks like that! We entered, and he guided me inside. His home has the masculine aura. Touches of black and white only. It looks empty and sad. But lovely.

The Day My Survival Score Reached Zero

The Day My Survival Score Reached Zero

My room had sealed windows, soft corners, no mirror, no lock, and a camera that watched me without blinking. A nurse stayed outside all day. If I sat up, she asked what I needed. If I stared too long at the window, she stepped closer. If I closed my eyes, someone came in to check whether I was still breathing. I had never been so trapped. I begged the Program in my head. “End it for me.” 【Isabella, I do not have permission to terminate your life. After mission failure, you must complete the exit yourself.】 Even death had rules.

Where the Curse Falls

Where the Curse Falls

I could only try to comfort him. "She made her choice, and now she's got to deal with the fallout." I figured things would finally quiet down, but out of nowhere, Zack, who had been off the radar for ages, fired up a live stream. … On screen, Joanna was tied to a chair, a gag in her mouth muffling her cries. Zack looked a mess, his face a minefield of zits, and his body bulked up like he had packed on a decade in days.

When Fire Meets Grace

When Fire Meets Grace

“No. You did it. You freed her.” Tears streamed down her cheeks. “Then why does it feel like I lost everything?” He pulled her close, holding her as the entire facility shook around them. “You didn’t lose her,” he whispered. “You just gave her peace.” A deafening explosion ripped through the lower levels. The Orpheus Core chamber was collapsing the building’s systems cascading into total failure. Victor threw her arm over his shoulder. “Come on we’re getting out of here!” They stumbled through the burning corridors, dodging falling debris. The sirens blared; the AI voice repeated its death sentence

Going Live: Bank Robbery, Bestie Meltdown

Going Live: Bank Robbery, Bestie Meltdown

When Jeremy was acquiring shares of my parents' company, he deliberately agitated them with news of Zachary and me dating. My parents were already exhausted and in poor health because of me, so his provocation caused them to have heart attacks immediately. Jeremy had also deliberately delayed calling for an ambulance. He personally watched as my parents died in agony. All of this was recorded by a hidden camera in his office. My father had secretly installed it before he died because he didn't trust Jeremy. In my past life, I died without ever knowing that the camera existed. In this life, the first thing I did after being reborn was send Liam to retrieve that recording.
