DOWNFALL ***************** DAVID’S POV ***************** The day has not started the way I envisioned, it is beginning to seem as if nature and man are against my every move. There seems to be a greater power at play over my life. The weather forecast for today promised sunshine but the opposite is the case. The downpour had been heavy with bits of thunderstorms, now my meeting has been canceled till further notice and the deal I am pursuing is worth millions. It had taken me a lot of time and effort including spending lots of money to secure the meeting but now everything is on hold. My mood right now is probably worse than today's weather.

Yvonne looked up at the clear night sky. "It's going to rain." "Hmm." Otto followed her line of sight. "It's not going to be a small downpour either." When the tears flow, people are not able to tell since I'm in the rain," she spoke, her voice hoarse from what I presumed to be too much crying. "And the rain comforts me. It doesn't wash the pain away but it assures me that the rainbow will appear afterwards and that the sun will rise again." When I didn't say anything, she added, "But we shouldn't stay in the rain for too long. You wouldn't want to fall sick and die before getting a chance to see the sun, now would you?" She smiled.

He again yelled, “It’s raining, twerps. Wake up!” Van groaned and moved his body to the side. He then complained, “How come it is raining inside the room? Don’t fuck with me.” Noah snorted and covered himself with a blanket. “It is raining. I can feel the small raindrops,” Noah said in response to Van's complaint while his eyes closed.

The man watched her opened her mouth and letting the raindrops fall in it. ‘She must be too sick that she could only think of drinking the rainwater,’ Zev thought. He stood there under the rain, soaked while letting her take her time. “Do you like it? The rain?” The young lady blinked her eyes. “Rain?” Her face showed curiosity like those in innocent children’s eyes. “Hmm… it’s beautiful. Like a blessing from above, these water droplets meant to fall from the sky to quench the thirst of those who suffered,” she whispered.

Despite the downpour, her joy remained undeterred, and it ignited a warmth within me that made the rain seem insignificant. As I trudged towards the stall through the rain, a passing car carelessly splashed me with water. Startled, I instinctively jumped, arms flailing in a comically dramatic fashion. Mandy's giggle reached my ears, and I couldn't help but join in her infectious laughter. At that moment, any frustration I felt vanished, replaced by the simple pleasure of seeing her smile.
