I felt my breath leaving my lungs as they made love in the video, while Aron Quaker laughed, clapping her shoulder. "Where did you get that AI video? I only took your clothes off that one time." A+ was unusual, and a sign of a good pairing. Cathy looked at me funny. "What?" I said. "Did you just make a joke?" "What? No!" "Did you say, 'that makes scents' instead of 'that makes sense'. Because if you did, it's the worst pun ever.'" We looked at each other, and then our nerves and the night and the spiked punch got the best of us and we burst out laughing. I grabbed her warm hand, giving it a squeeze. What would I do with this friend who infused me with confidence and lightening the awkward situations of my life?

I replied awkwardly. Sensing the shift in my mood, Lucas smoothly changed the subject. He started telling me silly jokes—some of them were terrible, but I appreciated the effort. I found myself laughing despite everything. For a moment, it felt nice. No pressure. No tension. Just two people sharing a light moment over coffee.

Sena asked in a hoarse voice. Crazy! If that's the case, isn't she really facing a crazy family right now? Is a person's life to them not important? The jocks continued to laugh and tormented the other nerds on the table. I huffed and rolled my eyes at the scene. On usual occasions, I would have intervened just for fun, but since I wasn't in the mood for such, I just went back to my business and finished my food. Seriously, you'd think that kind of scene happens only in movies, but nooo, even mean girls exist. I don't know what's happening to Waynard High but there sure is a lot of drama here in the school cafeteria. It sure is pretty annoying.
