“Why are you laughing, you psycho?” Adrian’s face twisted in confusion and disgust. “What’s so damn funny?” His eyes narrowed, as if me laughing was worse than any insult. For the second time in less than an hour, Cassie heard her boss laugh. Just like the first laugh of the day, it was a sarcastic one. The thing that unnerved Cassie about Felix’s laugh was that she had never seen him crack even a little smile. Hearing him burst out in laughter, even if it was a sarcastic one and not bred from genuinely finding something amusing or funny, was more than odd.

I continued. “Tsk, then you didn’t even pull their hair too? You should fight back!
