"Wow, so it was mass genocide then?" "What? No! Nothing like that. Any tribe that was conquered automatically fell under the reign of the one who conquered it. That was how it was till there were Sixteen tribes left." "So why are there four kingdoms now?" Elena asked, genuinely curious. "Well, according to the stories I was told by my tutor, there was actual peace for a couple of years amongst the sixteen tribes. But suddenly, the Blood Kingdom, which was called the land of ice then, suddenly amassed a great bundle of power. We do not know how, and why it works for them, but it made them overly powerful. So, their past kings took it upon themselves to start a new war. The war took years, and

Horses were neighing and hooves stomping on the parched earth underneath the moon that was about hide behind the huge mountains in the west. There was only one path where King Marcellus would possibly take: the Valley Of Kings. It was one of the advantage that Eastias and Noartias have because these two kingdoms were surrounded by mountains. So even if they were threatened to be attacked, they still have a chance to make the game in favor of them. That would be a matter between the strongest and the weak. All they have to do is to fight with all the might, fight at their strongest and never let the enemy push them back away from the battlefield. For once this happens, what they were protecti

“We build the baseline. We build the watchdog. And we build a consequence layer that makes it very, very painful to use the architecture we’re fighting without respecting the lines we draw.” Niko’s mouth quirked. “Queen move,” he said softly. “Exactly,” I said. “Kings move one square at a time. They’re slow, they’re obvious, they’re easy to surround. Queens move any damn direction they need to. That’s what we’re doing.” Dante let out a breath that might have been a laugh. “So what’s step one, Your Majesty?” he asked. I picked up the flash drive Dominion had handed me. Rolled it between my fingers once.

"I promise not to knock anything over." "Okay." Luna handed me some blocks. "But you have to follow the rules. No breaking the castle. No hurting the people. And the queen's word is law." "Sounds fair." I started building an addition to their castle. "In this game, does the guard ever get to be friends with the queen?" "Friends?" Aiden considered it seriously. "Maybe. If he's really really good and does what she says and protects everyone properly." "What if he wants to be more than friends?" I was using my children for relationship advice. This was a new low. "What if he wants to be king?"

“Lord Juraj is frailer than ash, but he has the ear of half the generals; he could decide tomorrow that a military coup would be the best for his family and end all our worrying here and now. But if I am a king with no achievements to my name—” “No achievements?” Father scoffs. “You have read every book in the library.” “Twice,” I mutter. “You are the reigning champion of bolar.” An ancient strategy game Father revived some years ago, it requires planning a semi-realistic attack on your opponent’s pieces, and the winner is the one with the fewest casualties. He’s right, but it’s another skill I’ve developed in my room. “I simply do not believe that kings are supposed to spend this much time

They had all been strangers. Now...They argued over pancakes. Teased each other without restraint. Shared meals. Shared burdens. Shared hope. Inferno's quiet voice drifted through my thoughts. "This is how kingdoms truly begin." Not with crowns. Not with conquest. With a table full of people who refused to let one another stand alone.

He has been investing like crazy in new machinery, new procedures, and new ways to do things. It has worked for the most part. The main reason he acquired your family’s land was to test all that and for what it seems, we made enough sound for investors to come calling.” “No one said anything to me.” “Oh honey, men swear to god that women can’t understand business.”

“Just tell me where I am!” “Okay then” he then started look serious as he was preparing to tell something. “This is the other world. The Inhabitants of this Land call this world Beaume.
