The sound moved backward, toward the tail, then hooked around toward the right wing. "Visual!" Marcus screamed, pointing out the right window. Clinging to the starboard engine nacelle was a nightmare. It was an Elder Gargoyle—massive, with skin like black obsidian and eyes that glowed with a cunning, hateful intelligence. It had survived the silver mist by encasing itself in a cocoon of its own wings, sacrificing the outer layer to protect its core. Now, it was stripping the metal casing off the jet engine with its bare hands.

A short description of it would be like a cross between a bat and man – in a single word, a gargoyle. The girl whimpered as the gargoyle drew closer. It seems to be talking to her but all she hears a growls and squeaks. The girl could not believe what she is seeing. It is a creature that is supposed to be just confined in books and stories made to scare off children. It was not supposed to exist unless this is nothing but a dream. ‘That’s right! This could be just a dream and nothing more,’ she thought to herself. She was supposed to wake up anytime soon and would jump out of her bed – just like what happens when she had nightma

The Magic tower was a small cylindrical tower of only three stories high made out of quartz brick. A soft red light came from its walls, and low rumblings came from the interior. In the roof were four gargoyles carved in wood, the craftmanship was superior to the golems that David saw so far and had the most amount of wings on their flat faces: 6 of them. The little ones could not see it but David could, they were watching them.

The vent was conveniently placed right at my eye level and I wondered briefly if that was why it had been disconnected, so people could spy on those who were in the other room easier. I peered inside and saw Cain standing with his mother and another man. This man looked to be about Cain's mother's age. He had black, wavy hair and was built like Cain. I wondered if that was his father. They were arguing which made me want to walk away. I felt nosey prying into their conversation. Just as I was about to leave, I heard Cain say angrily: "If you didn't want a Vampire son, maybe you shouldn't have fucked someone who had a vampiric disease."

His naughty finger intruded the treasure trove, and Gristel quivered and bit on his ear. "Ouch." He shouted, grabbing the ear, and murmured in sudden realization, "Fuck! I am also an elf?" Gristel covered her mouth and giggled, "Ah no, your highness! You are a Goblin." "Ah! Goblin!" He shrieked. Goblin, in the mythology of earth, is a hideous-looking, greedy, vicious humanoid creature. He checked his arms and muttered, "They are not green. Why? Whatever, it's just a dream."

Blake whispered. "You are so cheesy. You know that, right?" I chuckled with my eyes still closed. I was just about to open them again when I spotted the familiar figure in the corner of the darkness. He didn't move or even speak but I knew that he was there and I knew that it was Kyros.

Santo's face is distorted with anger, and I swear I can hear the crystal under his fingers shattering. I scream as the glass flies by my face. The fragile object shatters on the wall placed far behind me, and I have to make monstrous efforts not to vomit on the spot so much I am terrified. Santo points to the door. He doesn't need to guide me further. I know the way perfectly. * * * I start toward the office door and tilt my head slightly toward Santo as I close the door behind me. "Buonanotte a te," I say mechanically.

The crimson liquid was completely absorbed into the gargoyle’s porous form, amplified by demon magic. A complex network of glowing, dark veins began to pulse violently beneath the stone surface, and the gargoyle’s heavy eyelids suddenly snapped wide open. It’s eyes were bloodshot, glowing, and completely menacing. A low, vibrating growl reverberated heavily through the mountain air, serving as both a ancient warning and a dark greeting to it’s threshold.

Real gargoyles, of course, are living creatures, but difficult to distinguish from the stone ornaments which resemble them. A gargoyle can remain still for days. Yet they see and hear everything. Wonderful burglar alarms, and security guards. Should an intruder attempt to gain entrance to their building, they can swoop down, soundlessly, on wings hard as rock. They're resistant to magic, and damned hard to kill - not that I'd ever try. What can a pistol bullet do to a stone statue, except irritate it? Stonecutters and sculptors did booming business, turning out statues that looked as much like real gargo

The gravity of his speculation hung in the air, heavy with foreboding. The silence that followed was thick with the realization of that potential reality, a human, perhaps? Innocent, vulnerable, and most importantly, ignorant of the ancient power they were unwittingly unleashing upon the world. The Gargoyle, an ancient sentinel carved from rough stone, rumbled with a voice as deep as the earth itself. “The earth… it does not lie. Where did this… Chosen One appear?” His gaze shifted toward the ever-weakening light within the room. “Where was the tomb disturbed?”
