There was a light knock on my door the next morning that woke me. I groaned and rolled over almost hissing as the sound came again and again. As I cracked one eye open, it startled me to see that the planet was shining in with its light violet hue. The orange sun was nowhere in sight, and I grumbled at the idea of raising before it. There was no way I should be subjected to being woke up so early, it was extremely not right. New law! I thought to myself as I snuggled into Torh's pillow and breathed in his scent, willing myself back into the erotic dream about him.

He took my hand in his and whispered, "Let's get out of here." "Don't touch me!" I said as I withdrew my hand. And dashed ahead of him. It bled through the seams of the mourning gate in thin, sharp lines, cutting across the black stone road, across the floating blue-white soul lights, across the faces of the people we had just saved.

"...what the First Author was protecting." The white key began turning slowly by itself. Deep within the Gate... ancient gears awakened. A low rumble rolled across the endless Archive. The two massive doors started opening wider than ever before. From the growing light beyond... a single book slowly floated into view. Unlike the White Book. Unlike the Black Book. Its cover held no color at all. It was completely transparent. As if it had not yet decided what it wanted to become. Across its first page... one sentence slowly appeared.

The Gate was even more astounding standing beneath it in the large patch of green grass the people of Louis City called Gate Park.
