Lucian and Arabella

Lucian and Arabella

He was having fun following Arabella’s lead. Adrain was horrified. The gates were at least twenty feet high as though they were expecting a giant. The bars within the gate was made of gold, the outer edges were covered in gold coins. For a moment, Adrian’s greed kicked in, at least until he got a good look at what lay behind them.

Return to Power

Return to Power

"In fact, you insist on fighting with the Excalibur Family and Babylon today, and I won't stop you. At my current stage, I won’t be partial to anyone. Besides, with your master around, how can he let you be bullied?" "However, of course, if you want to do this, you have to explain it to your master." the Guardian said with a chuckle. "Well, please take care of your Heaven's Gate first! It's located in the Ice Plains. If those in the west wanted to take action, your Heaven's Gate will have to bear the brunt . The old man of the Slave Clan has already set off. After I persuade the Excalibur Family and Babylon to help us, I will rush over." The Guardian waved his hand and said.

The Accalia Series

The Accalia Series

We needed to find a way out of here. " Do you know, in legend, it is said to be seven gates to hell?" Ana said, while drawing her symbols. I kept quiet. I had nothing to say to her. The heat I was feeling inside me was making my body hurt, and I was trying to make it stop. She continued. " The truth is, there are only three. Humans have only really discovered two gates. The third one lies here. Right in the middle of their beloved London," she said. So that's where we are. I shouldn't be too far from home then, I thought to myself.

Let Them Kneel

Let Them Kneel

“It shows four gates—north, south, east, and west. Each said to lead to realms not tethered to this one.” He gave a dry huff. “I’d show it to you, but it’s back in the jeans I had to strip off downstairs.” Lazarus gave a low hum, not quite a chuckle. “No need,” he said, folding one hand over the other. “I’m familiar.” His gaze sharpened just slightly. “What is it you wish to know?” Julian leaned forward, eyes fixed on the vampire king. “Are the gates real?” For the first time, Lazarus hesitated.

This novel is so good from the start (not completed yet, 212 as of 1 May 2026). The mystery, the reveal, the high stakes rescue the fights. Has it all. And it all connects in a satisfying way. Love the FL and ML, such great chemistry. I couldn't wait for the updates. Highly recommend this read.

This was a really good book from beginning to end. And while it was a serial, it did have an ending which I appreciate unlike some other books on this app. Would love to see a book 2, perhaps about the children as adults. Overall, very engaging and I couldn’t wait for new chapters to be released.

The Peculiar Morass

The Peculiar Morass

These stories describe the river of blood, the scorpion, and the huge underground labyrinth ruled by the Mayan god of death and the demon "King of Sibalba" "Keep on searching since there are too many entrances, we have to pick a perfect place to open the gates to the underworld," says Henri. Another possible place to enter the underworld is the seven gates, as spiritual metaphors, others believe that they exist in the physical world. One of the stories described the whereabouts of the New Orleans Gate. It is said that to enter Guinea, seven doors must be opened in the correct order. Each subsequent gate is led by one of the dead, Lola "Gedeh", who must reconcile with appropriate offerings.

In The Arms of Morpheus

In The Arms of Morpheus

As we passed, creatures of all shapes and sizes peered through open doorways, each creature more terrifying than the last. “Come, my pretty sweet. We cannot be late for the master.” Dareios urged me on. As far as I was concerned, I would have loved to be late – just to put Icelus’ nose out of joint. But on the other hand, having the god of nightmares angry at me couldn’t be a good thing. Dareios seemed to quicken the pace and I had no choice but to follow him until we broke free from the buildings and approached a wall which was so tall that I couldn’t even see the other side of it. Gates of finely carved ebony barred the way and I stood staring at them while Dareios spoke to the guards who

THE BROTHERS WHO WANT ME

THE BROTHERS WHO WANT ME

I got up and looked through the front of the truck to see where we were and what greeted me were the imposing gates of a mansion. The massive gates of the mansion stood like sentinels, guarding the secrets hidden within its walls. They were a testament to both elegance and security, designed to leave a lasting impression on anyone who dared approach. Crafted from wrought iron, the gates bore intricate patterns of swirling vines, mythical creatures, and ancient symbols, all expertly forged by skilled artisans.

The Wolfless Omega & The Alpha King

The Wolfless Omega & The Alpha King

Massive waves crashed against jagged rocks below while storm clouds churned overhead. Lightning illuminated the horizon. Not white lightning. Silver. The same silver that lived inside the gates. The same silver that flowed through my blood. A city stood beneath the cliff. Ancient. Enormous. Half submerged beneath the sea. Its towers rose from the water like the bones of something long dead. And at the center stood another gate. The Third Gate. Larger than Blackthorn's. Larger than the desert gate. Its surface glowed beneath the storm while hundreds of figures moved around it.

The Queen's Heir

The Queen's Heir

Even so, she kept their pace measured – not rushing toward their destination, but allowing time for reflection on all they had experienced since leaving Olympus’s golden halls. Now, standing before the massive gates of their divine home, the familiar sight of marble palaces glittering under eternal sunlight brought mixed feelings to each of them. The gates themselves stood fifty feet tall, forged from bronze and gold that had been blessed by Hephaestus himself, depicting scenes of creation and chaos, of gods and mortals intertwined in the great tapestry of existence. Beyond them, the streets of Olympus climbed upward toward the central peak where Zeus’s palace stood like a crown upon the mou

CALAVERA: The Mafia’s Caged Bride

CALAVERA: The Mafia’s Caged Bride

I feel myself shaking so badly that my teeth audibly tap together. I was already scared of César on a normal day. I was already tense around him, already careful with every breath, every look, every word. But this voice... this voice is different. It is darker. Deeper. It is serious with something I don't want to understand. Something ancient and cruel. My tears drip hot and fast between my fingers as I lower my hands, and that's when I see them. The gates. Huge. Tall. Black iron twisted into sharp spikes. They loom in front of us like the entrance to the underworld, rising out of the ground like claws waiting to snap shut. My stomach twists violently, acid rising in my throat.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first time I stumbled upon 'By the Waters of Babylon,' I was struck by its eerie, post-apocalyptic vibe. It’s a short story by Stephen Vincent Benét, set in a future where civilization has collapsed, and humanity has regressed to a tribal state. The protagonist, John, is a young priest from a primitive society that fears the 'Place of the Gods'—a ruined city implied to be New York. John embarks on a forbidden journey there, driven by visions and curiosity. What he discovers is both awe-inspiring and tragic: the remnants of a advanced society destroyed by its own hubris—likely nuclear war. The revelation that the 'gods' were just humans hits hard, especially when he finds a skeleton still clutching a book, a haunting symbol of lost knowledge.

John’s journey is as much about self-discovery as it is about uncovering the past. The story’s power lies in its slow unraveling of truth, blending myth and reality. Benét’s prose is sparse but evocative, painting a world where the past is both revered and misunderstood. The ending, where John decides to share his knowledge cautiously, leaves you pondering how societies rise and fall. It’s a timeless cautionary tale about progress and destruction, and it still gives me chills whenever I reread it.
