Damion comes back with drinks, and I shoot him a mischievous, mildly homicidal smile.
“How do I say this politely …” I mumble to Haley without taking my eyes off the devil wrapped in angel skin. “Your son is a dick.”
Damion just cocks his brow and flashes that stupid, lopsided grin — the one he uses when he’s entertained and absolutely unrepentant.
“Oh, honey, I know,” Haley sighs dramatically. “All the men in my house have this annoying cocky streak. It’s genetic. Comes straight from their father’s side of the family. A curse, really.”
