The Day the Hospital Made a Killer
Jeremy demanded coldly, "If you resigned, then why are you still in the hospital today?"
At that moment, a firm, slightly aged voice came from the edge of the crowd. "Gwen came with me."
Everyone turned toward the sound.
Mom stood in the doorway of the ward, still wearing her patient gown. Her complexion was pale, but her eyes were bright and clear.
She walked forward and positioned herself squarely in front of me, facing both Jeremy and Michael.
"I had surgery just last month. My daughter was worried, so she accompanied me for my follow-up over the past few days."
