My hands were steady, a small victory I celebrated internally. "The proposal for the northern corridor requires a unified visual language," I began, my voice clear and professional. I didn't look at Luke’s eyes; I looked at the bridge of his nose. "Velez International will handle the aerial cinematography, while Cromwell Legacy manages the heritage site archival footage. We need to sync our color grading to ensure the brand doesn't look fragmented." Luke leaned back, tapping his pen against the mahogany. "The heritage footage is high-contrast. Your style, Ms. Martin, tends to be... softer. More organic. How do you propose we bridge that without losing the 'Legacy' feel?"

“Pharmacy bottles? Did they have anything on them?” “The ones in the wardrobe I couldn’t really see – they had some kind of green writing on them. One definitely said ‘CATOR’ but the other said something like ‘MACULUS’ or something. I went to pick up the bigger pieces of the ones on the floor – there was a huge piece that said ‘OP LADO’ on it and another, smaller bit that said ‘ONI’. What do you think they could mean?” “I’ve no idea. ON-EE? What the hell is that?”

He said and rested a hand under my jaw to raise my gaze and make me look at him since I was facing the side due to my shyness. “You see, I’ve never been mated. For the past five years, while all my friends and all the other Generals ’ sons who were my pairs then found their mates, I didn’t find mine. I didn’t know what a mate bond felt like until I suddenly. I wasn’t even expecting myself to be paired since I’ve been disappointed every year but then I walked into that Diner Hall and your presence told me I was wrong.” He said and held both my cheeks with both his hands, filling me with warmth.

"It's… X-linked?" "Obviously," he muttered, finally looking directly at me. His gaze was cold, assessing, sweeping over my flushed face, my hunched shoulders. It felt like being scanned by a predator assessing prey. Worthless prey. "Carrier mother. Affected son. Genotypes. Go." The demand froze me. Genotypes. X^H X^h? Or… X^H Y? Which was normal? Which was affected? My breath hitched. The letters danced on the page. The quiet of the library felt deafening, amplifying the frantic scramble inside my skull. *Say something. Anything. You’re failing. He sees it. They all see it.* Tears pricked hotly. *No. No tears. Sell indifference!* But all I could sell was panic.

My childhood angered Deisal. “Mom said he was in the military on leave. That’s why their affair was so short. She didn’t even know his name.” “I do,” Doc stated, and the room gasped. “Ghost let me take a few vials of your blood when you were in the hospital. I took some from him, Gunnar, and Deisal as well. I run a study on the genetics of enhanced DNA. I loaded your DNA into CODIS, a national DNA database, and got an over 50% match.” Doc continued to explain. “Each parent contributes half of your genetic make-up. You have an extra chromosome inherited from your father, making it more than half.”

Ariana felt ice crawl down her spine. “Janus?” Mason repeated. Her father shook his head. “That program was rejected.” “By who?” Ariana demanded. Silence. The file began to scroll. Two genetic profiles. Side by side. Not identical. But eerily similar. Complementary markers. Mirrored neural mapping patterns. Genesis’ voice flickered again. “…designed for dual-key authorization…” Mason’s voice dropped. “Dual-key.” Her father staggered back like someone had punched him. “They went behind my back,” he breathed.

"What? That's impossible. Shay, I was the only one. There was never anyone else." "I know," I said, my heart sinking into my stomach. I looked at the screen. The paternal markers didn't match Massimo. But they didn't match Julian Vane or Lucien Valois either. The markers matched a genetic profile that was flagged in the system under a codename: P-GEN-001. My mind flashed back to the "fertility vitamins" Massimo’s mother, Catherine, had forced me to take during our marriage. The specialists she had sent me to. The minor procedures I was told were for my own health.

Amelia told me walking out of the room. "He looks exactly like you," my father said chuckling "He has his mother's brow eyes," I said looking at my son. "What's his full name?" "Ace Alexander Persons," "Alot of A's," he said smiling as Ace grabbed onto his finger giggling. "We both decided on Ace, we originally planned on Xavier as his middle name but I wanted him to have his grandfather's name," I said my mind drifting to Amelia's father. "Are you staying for dinner?" I heard Amelia ask as she entered the room.

Admittedly, it’s helpful having some staff left over to help with the Alpha’s being here. The Alpha’s having been selected by Ren, who he is closest to, include Noah, the Alpha of Harmony, Malik, the Alpha of Love, Kaden, the Alpha of Vengeance, and lastly, Asher, the Alpha of Desire, for no particular reason at all, other than he’s a calm individual compares to the others. “No Chase again?” I ask Ren, leaning against the wall. He shakes his head at me, to which I sigh deeply. I desperately need to speak to him, and I think he knows that.

He noticed his siblings weren't there and ȧssumed they were with the other Goblins. It suddenly dawned on Will, was that thing his mother? She had obviously been there for a long time, had Will and his siblings all been born from her. This notion suddenly made Will want to throw up. He then remembered all the fantasy stories from his own world about Goblins, so far a lot of the facts about Goblins had lined up, some didn't but most did. [Does that mean there are no female Goblins? Do all Goblins mate with other species to procreate? So what was that thing in there? It was bigger than a Goblin, but had similar features…] Will tried to recall what he had seen. She was big, bigger than what he
