The car pulled up to the basement to the hotel. Dash stopped the car, opened the car door, and slapped Daisy’s face a few times “wake up, wake up,” he said. Daisy didn’t respond. Dash got out of the car and picked Daisy up. Her body was limp as a noodle, her head lolled back and her hair bun had come undone and was hanging loose.

She saw the hangar’s reinforced doors begin to groan open, revealing a vertical drop into a swirling abyss of snow and ice. "I'm coming back for you, Caleb Miller," she whispered, her voice hardening. She slammed the car into gear. The Mustang roared, a guttural, mechanical scream that echoed off the rock walls. She floored the accelerator, the tires screaming as they caught the metal ramp.

Patrick uttered, still not settled. There’s a grunt coming from the walkie-talkie. It was Gracea, seemingly reluctantly agreeing with Patrick’s words. Not even a second later, several sharp ice shards appeared and traveled at the same speeds of a bullet, stabbing straight at the zombies’ heads. Some zombies tried to dodge, probably sensing their impending dooms, but because the ice shards were faster, they couldn’t escape their fate. Patrick giggled, “Thanks, grumpy, much appreciated.”

Asher ordered quickly, before the vampire on the hood smashed the windshield. Jamie opened her door, just as a third vampire hopped onto the roof of the car. The petite girl ducked and rolled out of the vehicle, and instantly got on her feet and began to run in the direction Asher instructed her to.
