Others are spirits who've chosen, for good or evil, to remain on this plane for some reason, whether it's protecting their descendants, guarding a sacred site or seeking revenge. “Night.” I went upstairs and closed the guest room door quietly. I sat on the bed in the dark, listening to the house. After a while I heard the screen door open and close again as he came inside. His footsteps moved through the kitchen, then up the stairs, past my door, down the hall to the master bedroom. The house settled into silence. I lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling, heart still beating too fast, the image of him on the porch in the dark stuck behind my eyes. I knew I wasn’t going to sleep anytime soon. Now let's talk about my other books. Nightmare Land is not changing, but I am re-editing the first 18 chapters, which I will try to finish as soon as I can. Again, I will try to get the re-edits out with a new chapter, so just bear with me. Not only that, but I'm trying to add on a new book called Dark Tales of the Alive Undead. I have received no response about that either, but I'm waiting for an entire week to see if my editor will respond. I know they say to wait a whole month for new books, but this is also about my other books.

“You've got one thing right, Phillipe. Time is short. And I plan to use every second to end you.” His laugh was low, broken. “End me?
