CHASE *** Two Months Ago *** I saw a ghost today. The ghost of someone who was supposed to be dead but was suddenly very much alive, standing across from me on the battlefield. Even after so many years, I’d recognize her anywhere. She was my mother, after all. I watched as her eyes flashed in recognition, the realization of who I was coming to her. Then those same eyes went cold, because even though she knew, she evidently didn’t care. We were on opposing sides of a war and in that moment, I wasn’t her son. I was merely another enemy to eliminate.

Ghost could almost hear his voice in the back of his skull, mocking, claiming, whispering she is mine. No. Ghost’s jaw tightened, his teeth grinding until his head ached. Emily was not Kane’s. She was his blood. His daughter. And though she wept now, though she broke in front of all of them, she would rise again. Ghost would make damn sure of it. Grim’s voice called for silence. Hawk and Tank lifted the coffin, boots thudding heavy against the earth as they carried Rhett toward the grave cut deep in the red dirt. Mukura hugs her with her eyes closed tears flowing down her cheeks and Genteel freezes confused on if she is now over everything and does not embrace her with her tears beginning to fall from her wide-open eyes. Seeing that she is not responding to her hugging her, she opens up one eye and says to her “Mom! I think this is when you also hug your daughter back and not just become a zombie on a special moment!” Genteel embraces her tight, “I am sorry!” “I know, mother! Somehow, when you accessed my memories, I could see yours also!” Garamba smiles headed to Gurudza, “It is about time you two made up and got on the same page!” she sounds happy because of the development.

In no time, I saw a sudden appearance of something like a phantom, becoming clearer according to the tick of the clock. “Wait…” I muttered to myself, a sigh following immediately. “Don't be afraid.” My ghost mother said, her eyes consciously blinked at me. “I have come with a good news.” “What is it?” I asked her, turning my head towards her, my mind calmed by her presence. “It is time to take revenge.” My ghost mother revealed, holding a piece of stick up in the air. “Mom, on who?” I asked her curiously, raising my eyebrows. “Do you mean Alpha Thane's pack?”

He called. "That's not mom," Amelia said. "What do you mean?" He asked. "Mom is dead." She turned to see her dad's reaction. "Mom is dead." She said again. Andrea shook his head. "That's not possible." He said still in doubt. "Your mom is standing right..." He paused as he took a few seconds to take note of the situation. After he was done speculating, he looked at Amelia. "How...how come?' "She was killed by a ghost," Amelia said. Even without looking at her dad, she could tell her dad was giving her a stern look, a look of disbelief, the same look he gave her when she told him she sees ghosts.

“Your parents were totally cool with you leaving school and diving into the rabbit hole of all things magical and mystical, am I right?” Her face falls. Can tell she's reliving some memory that's tearing her apart “They’re all dead.” She reveals, “My mom, my dad, my little brother. We were all in a fire. I'm the ghost who survived. Since that day, I’ve been alone. I’ve wandered the earth, never staying in one place for too long. Always searching, always looking for…something. I’ve seen the world, Andrei. I’ve seen its beauty, I’ve also seen its darkness. Nothing haunts me like the day I turned five... Why didn't I just die with them?”

"Belle is dead! She's dead, and you're asking her to apologize to this tramp? How can you even say such things?" Grayson sneered, his disbelief etched deeply into his face. "Dead, you say? Don't make me laugh. This is just another one of her schemes, and you're all playing along. Do you really think I'm that gullible?" My mother's voice broke through, trembling with both anguish and rage. "Grayson, my daughter is gone! She's dead, and you—do you even have a heart?!" She looked at him as though she wished she could drag him into the grave to keep me company.
