Before he could answer, the intercom crackled and that chilling, smooth voice filled the room:
“You brought her home, Lucas. How sweet.”
Amara Holt.
Her voice was distant but mocking, echoing through the underground halls.
“I waited years for you to open that door again.”
Lucas grabbed Natasha’s arm. “We need to leave. Now.”
But before they reached the exit, the overhead lights died completely. The emergency bulbs flickered once, twice, then went dark.
And in the glow of the last remaining screen, a figure appeared behind the glass, same face as Natasha, same eyes, only colder.
Amara Holt smiled faintly.
