Chapter 5

Levi.

He walked back to where he had left his queasy chauffer about fifteen minutes ago. He got inside the sleek black Mercedes and sighed in despair. He felt angrier than hurt. The moment he saw the man at her house he left immediately. His eyes turned red and his blood boiled. He still remembered her small breaths and her heartbeat fasten when he pulled her closer. At that time every single part of his body wanted to rip off those classless clothes of hers and devour her, both flesh and blood. He still felt that now. He wished he would've just kissed and bitten those full luscious lips.

"Drive faster. I need to feed."

The chauffer's hands felt like jelly when Levi spoke. That was the power of a Vampire with noble blood, the inborn authority that could control and destroy anything, even other vampires. They also lived longer than others so they were considered immortal. This caused a lot of inner conflict in the fifteenth century leaving very few Nobles scattered around the world. It was quite easy killing a vampire: a wooden stake to the heart but that was where the difference between the Nobles and the others lied. To kill one, you either had to have some universal luck or a truckload of stakes to stab with once their hearts regenerate. If you were really really lucky, then at most three stakes would be enough but if you weren't, then then the last thing you would see would be their sharp fangs head right at you and slit your neck open.

He gulped, sensing rage and frustration in Levi's words, "Y-yes, Master Levi." and stepped on the gas.

The car drove further out the city but he didn't bother to see the  beautifully lit and boisterous city at his right. He checked, again and again his schedule and absurdly they all needed his secretary; the woman he'd been craving for almost a whole year, to be completed.

'I just need to calm down and not lose control tomorrow. Easy.' He thought, unaware of how weak he had become to her. His fangs were now visible and eyes scarlet. The car snaked past the large but well crafted gate and stopped in front of the large like castle. He got out and was received by a young man of short slim stature. Despite it being almost midnight, there was no hair out of place and no spot missed in his appearance.

A paragon of neat and clean.

His uniform was the same as the chauffer's, a white dress shirt tucked neatly under a pair of black trousers. Unlike the chauffer's cuff links which were silver in color, his were gold. A higher rank. In addition he wore a black buttoned half sweater and his feet and socks were buried in his polished black shoes. It was easy to see the the Wushi family crest imbued on his left wrist since it was not a regulation to wear gloves for the senior servants of the

He bowed and his brown hair shimmered under the light above him, "Welcome back Master, Two of the Sang daughters have arrived and are waiting-"

"Good, tell them to wait longer." Levi interrupted as he passed by him, his dark scent swept through his small nose. The man hesitated before deciding to speak his mind.

"But Master, you mustn't wait any longer, you need their blood after all."

Levi continued walking until he reached the top of the stairs on the first floor of the house and turned around. The servant stood suddenly. Fear rose from inside him. Not him only, the other servants near him gagged and some collapsed from the extreme pressure exerted on them.

Those damned eyes. He felt those eyes above him scrutinized him and his soul the way God would a human. His body shivered when he heard Levi's voice echo the living room.

"Know. Your. Place...need I say more? "

"N-no Master Wushi."

He brushed back his hair and entered his study room. He wasn't even mad at the servant's persistence. He was hungry. Hungry for her blood. The mere thought of his fangs deep inside her neck made him hard, just like right now. He laughed and buried his head in his hands.

"Ah, fuck. Qiao Mo... "

Hila

She woke up rather earlier than usual and felt queasy. The day of the Wushi Chin Cooperation annual meeting had arrived and she was to deliver the Wushi Group's proposal to the board. The obvious reason behind the formation of the group was to help the world through annual donations to curb different calamities in different countries.

But no man, rich or poor, would just pour coins, gold, silver or copper, into a beggar's baseless hat. The main reasons were to show the members' benevolence, promote their businesses and names and mostly to prevent scandals in the future. It was a really good ploy the privileged had formed. A win-win situation is what she heard them say more than once.

She passed by D.D tailor shop and got her costumed dress she would wear during her presentation. She watched as the expensive peach dress was packed.Alongside was a necklace with a shiny emerald jewel and of course, Levi's own set of clothes and accessories. Her heart beat faster when the clothes were handed over to her. She felt her chest compress and her throat jammed. What if she botched the entire project and end up a laughing stock? Would he still talk to her with that soothing tone? Would his eyes still look at her the same? Would his sweet caresses end?

'Ugh, calm down. He'll just get bored one day and leave you be.'

She gave the saleswoman a bright smile and left for the bank.

She went over to other departments and lastly her former department for a last minute check. It was still early but the employees arrived early. It seemed it wasn't only her who was anxious to death. She corrected a few mistakes here and there with the help of the team leaders and managers and once done she now felt reassured and less nervous. Her hope was to finish this already tiresome Friday and get some sleep.

Levi

As he got off the car, he felt conflicted. Even throughout the ride he felt a bad premonition. Still, he was confident in Qiao Mo. She was diligent, smart, responsible and neat. The beau ideal of secretarial work. He always felt lucky when he was with her for some reason and always wanted to compliment her. So why, why did he feel so uneasy?

It was when he saw her, head bowed, eyes stared at the floor and on the verge of prostration in front of her colleagues that he realized the reason behind this uneasiness.

She felt a sharp pain in her neck. No, it wasn't, calling it sharp was just the tip of how it actually felt, it was excruciating. She would rather be stabbed a hundred times than feel this pain again She tried punching his abdomen and pushing him away but he wouldn't budge. She felt weak and helpless. How did it end up like this? She could clearly remember whatever happened before they entered the elevator. Her and Levi. Then what was he doing right now? She could feel his gasps and him gulp down her blood unceasingly.

"Levi, sir, stop. "

'What was the question he asked again? About the man in my house? Oh, Mr. Chin.'

Yeah, h she remembered how angry and hurt he looked when he blurted out the question a few moments ago.

"Tell me, who was that man in your house yesterday? Don't bother lying to me Miss Mo I am too angry to stand it. "

"What are you talking about Mr. Wushi? "

He grabbed her hand and pulled her closer. She couldn't look away and resorted to stare back at him. She had to keep her cool or else she would lose everything and her plan would be ruined. Suddenly she saw how weird his eyes were acting. Their colour kept changing from the normal blue to red and back.

"Qiao Mo!" She felt unsafe when he blurted out her name. But how did he know Mr. Chin was there? Unless-no, it couldn't be. The thing following her couldn't possibly be him. But the fear she was feeling was the same. The fear of an unknown opponent. That suffocating fear of not knowing how strong or what tricks your opponent has up their sleeves. She trudged backwards.

"What are you? "She asked. Her fingers froze from the anticipation.

"..."

He wouldn't answer. How could he after all. He was smitten. He didn't want her to run away. All he wanted to do was to make her his without hurting her.

His eyes still kept turning. He couldn't calm down. His grip was unshakeable. Her pulses kept drawing him in.

'How does it taste, that red fluid moving through every part of her body. From her pounding heart, past her lungs, liver, through the capillaries in her lips and every other part I've never touched.'

Ah, how enticing, how welcoming.

"Who was the man? Answer me!"

"Sorry sir, but that'smy personal life you're asking about." She needed to get away so she could only answer indifferently so as not to give him any second thoughts about who she was. But that did the exact opposite. His eyes finally turned red and his fangs grew.

She didn't even have time to realize what he was. His fangs were already deep inside her neck and she couldn't push him away.

"Qiao Mo, I can't let you be with another. You. Are. Mine. "

She felt him suck the life out of her. It was rough, not as gentle as he was before. It was painful, so painful the veins in her temple protruded and her eyes just let her tears flow out freely. Was she going to die here, in the hands of this insane vampire of a man. Where'd her strength go? She was powerless against him, mind, body and soul. It wasn't that she couldn't fight back, it was just that she didn't want to. She was in love with him after all and as he quenched his thirst, she felt relieved from all the burden and anger stored up inside. Her revenge wouldn't be completed after all.

'I'm sorry mother, I'm sorry I didn't live my life the way you expected, instead, I did uncountable horrible things for your vengeance. I'm sorry for everything. But why is it that I'm okay with this? Because I deserve it, because I fell in love? But he's killing me, he's hurting me. It's so painful I can't stand it a minute longer mother...'

Her throat burned. She couldn't let out a sound since his hand had covered her mouth. She felt weaker and her legs gave out, but Levi pusher her to the wall, separated her legs and held her up with his body. She could feel his lower body grind between her legs. Slowly, everything, including his now rumpled silver hair was blurry and the last thing she saw before her eyes shut was their reflection at the mirror installed at the adjacent side of the exclusive elevator.

"I don't wanna die.... "
