Gideon lets out a barking laugh but doesn’t say anything about the bed or the collection of whips and things on the floor. Ghost is standing right outside of the bedroom door; he’s so close that Gideon almost slams into him, but Ghost seems completely unbothered. He’s got a massive smile on his face and he’s holding out a velvet blue box while looking directly at me. “Glow worms shouldn’t be this happy.” I mutter, which only makes Ghost smile more and Gideon laugh a little as he steps to the side. I watch in horror as Ghost drops to one knee, holds up the little velvet box and bows his head so low I can see the back of his pale neck.

He was splayed half-naked on the table, his glasses blurred, his body bluish-pale, with the morgue tag swaying on his feet like a death stamp. Black fire brimmed in Ghost’s chest, the memories haunting like the grim reaper. This wasn’t part of the plan. Ghost shouldn’t be doing this, because he had a link to Black Day. But Ghost needed a bait, someone to fan the flames. And when the time comes, Ghost’d burn them all. “Core’s temperature stabilized at thirty-two point seven,” the lead physician murmured. “We’re good to start the reversal.” Ghost snatched the tag from his feet before ordering. “Start the awakening process.”

She lightly out the glance on him and had to stop. That man was Gael. Gael Greyson. The person who died three months ago. She paused and looked at him rather confused. "You can see me right?" He took a step towards her making San took a step back. "I thought so." He walked towards her and lifted his hand as tried to touch her face but his passed through her. San suddenly felt scared. "But I can not touch you." He nodded. "G...Gh...Ghosttttt" San suddenly shouted as she ran towards her apartment. It was a ghost. It was definitely a ghost.

But they all felt so fucking real. Jesus! The thought of having sex with a ghost made me sick all over. My stomach knotted as a full-blown terror took root. A fever ran down my body and my skin gallop with goose pimples. "Do you see her?" his question brought me back to reality. I nodded slowly. "So those times I see you talking to yourself, it is her you are talking to?" I motioned. "Jesus!" he exclaimed. "You need deliverance with serious prayers oh!"

The lies tasted like ash, but the truth would taste worse. Eventually, the crowd thinned, men drifting out to smoke or crash in their rooms. Grim stayed at the table, watching, silent and steady. Emily disappeared upstairs with Sierra and Kayla, her eyes still lingering on Rhett’s back until she was gone. And that was when Ghost moved. He didn’t say anything at first. Just stepped out from the shadows near the hall, pale eyes fixed on Rhett like he’d been waiting all night. “Come with me,” Ghost said simply.

And instead of relief that he was finally as broken as me, all I felt was hollow. My phone buzzed across the desk. Gabriel’s name flashed on the screen. I let it ring. Then another buzz—this time a group chat with Malik, Liam, and Avery. Malik: u alive? 👀 Avery: pretty sure you ghosted us again. rude. Liam: don’t make me drive to your office. I stared at the texts until the screen went dark. Another buzz—this time, a direct call from Malik. I answered with a sigh. “What?”

But when he stepped inside, the sight before him nearly made him freeze. Ghost sat in a plush leather chair, his movements slow, deliberate. He swirled a glass of deep red wine in his hand, the candlelight reflecting off the crystal. His expression was unreadable, a calm storm behind those cold, calculating eyes. He took a measured sip before looking up at Specter, who was still catching his breath. "Did you hear about the current news?" Specter asked, his voice edged with restrained urgency. Ghost tilted his head slightly, setting his glass down with an almost lazy motion. "Yes," he said simply, his tone void of any emotion.

He lowered his head and had his lips on her neck, giving it a light kiss. Jennet shivered badly after hearing his sexy husky voice. The female ghost was a male ghost? But, she could not pry her eyes away as she stared at the reflection in the glass; engraving his beautiful appearance in her mind. "Hu... Hue..." her lips trembled as she muttered the name. Her heart pounded madly. She tried to move but was powerless. "Yes..." the blond spoke softly in her ear and kissed her neck lightly while inhaling her scent. Jennet could not contain the fear anymore and her eyes rolled upward. She collapsed to the floor; losing consciousness.
