Seeing the pain in Gideon's eyes, I stopped talking and hugged him.
"That wasn't a normal attack. Someone gave you drugs to destroy your mind," Gideon said.
"If you had not been so strong-willed, or if you had not met me…" His voice trembled. "I would have lost you forever."
Just then, Gideon's phone rang. He answered, and his expression grew darker as he listened.
"I understand," he said. "Submit the evidence straight to the federal prosecutors. I want every single one of them to pay!"
