I stopped beside him, my breath fogging in the chill air.

Through a break in the trees, I saw two wolves not in fur, but on two legs, dressed in dark leather.
They moved with a hunter’s grace, scanning the ground, the trees, one bent down, touching the earth, then lifted his fingers to his nose.
Tracking.
“Ironwood.” Zayne breathed, his voice barely audible.
“Not Caleb’s, a different kind of trouble.”
