“My queen,” he said with a deep bow. “It’s an honor. I trade in the North, but as Alaric’s only living male relative, I couldn’t miss this.”
He clapped, and a servant carried forward a carved box. Inside lay lavender incense, rare trinkets, and fine fabrics.
“Each gift represents prosperity, wellness, and wisdom,” Gilbert said proudly.
I smiled. “Flattery accepted.”
