Glass Houses Novelas e Histórias

"You look perfect. Go have a nice dinner." Shortly after, I got into my car and drove to the venue. I made it clear to Nathan that I didn't want him to pick me up. I wanted everything to go according to how I had planned it in my head; I wanted his jaw to drop when he saw me walk through the door of the restaurant. The Glasshouse was warm, smelling of roasted garlic and wood smoke. Small candles flickered in amber glass holders on every table, casting a soft, golden glow over the customers. Outside the high windows, the dock water was black and quiet, reflecting the long, glowing line of the bridge.

-POV Derby The glass corridor connecting the main office tower to the Grand Horizon executive pavilion always felt like walking through a greenhouse. By three in the afternoon, the sun hit the panes directly, throwing sharp, blinding squares of light across the polished concrete floor. It was hot, bright, and completely packed with corporate managers heading toward the weekend closing sessions.

Twenty minutes later, Elara was standing in front of a long glass building tucked against the side of the mountain. The greenhouse. For a moment, Elara simply stared at it. The structure was beautiful in a quiet way. Snow rested along the sloped glass roof while winter sunlight reflected softly against the panes. Warm air fogged portions of the glass from within. Someone had taken care of this place, a lot of care.

If I attacked the droid, Vane would pull the trigger instantly. *There has to be another way,* I pleaded in my mind. *Show me!* And then, I saw it. A tiny, hidden detail I had missed before. Beneath Vane’s desk lay the main fiber-optic conduit supplying power to the observation room's glass windows. The glass wasn't ordinary window glass—it was high-density smart-glass, held in place by an intense magnetic field. If the power conduit suffered a sudden voltage spike, the magnetic field would collapse, causing the massive glass panes to implode outward into the low-pressure atmosphere outside the tower.

The bell chimed as I pushed the door open, though the sound was more a shiver than a ring. The plank beneath my heel groaned, long and thin, like a sigh that had been waiting years to be released. The windows were impossible to see through—so dirty, so old that the glass itself was warped with bubbles. It turned the world outside into a mirage. Inside, the smell was damp earth and incense smoke. Rows of glass doors lined the sides, locked from the outside, keeping plants alive in their own little prisons. Beyond them, I glimpsed the greenhouse in the back, a pale shape behind sliding glass doors.

The glass structure of the Victorian conservatory groaned under the immense atmospheric pressure of the vortex spinning directly overhead. Fractures raced across the overhead panes, reflecting the brilliant, bruised violet light of the sky like a web of dying stars. Inside, the heat was stifling, thick with the scent of boiled soil and hyper-accelerated plant decay.

And then they saw the fence. It wasn’t a normal fence. It was smooth, white, and curved, about ten feet high. It seemed to glow faintly in the twilight. It stretched left and right through the trees, further than they could see. There was no gate. No sign. “The new Glass House,” Arthur whispered. “No walls. Just a border.” The red thread under Elena’s skin burned hot. The signal was screaming now. The source was just on the other side. “How do we get in?” Lucas said, eyeing the smooth, seamless wall.

Before going i saw my reflection in the mirror and whispered to myself, “Damn, your girl looks so fine. I’m not about to play with this position.” In about 10 minutes, I arrived at Vans and Sterling Company — and boy, this place was flashy. From the security men dressed in all black uniforms who happily opened the doors for me, to the gleaming polished floors and sky- high walls, I instantly knew I hit the jackpot with this position. “Thank you, Jesus,” I whispered under my breath, fully aware that it was only through Him that I had gotten this spot.

Romy pov The air inside the main conservatory was a freezing maze of broken glass, hanging vines, and white winter snow. Outside, the loud roar of the vanguard battle had finally died down to a low rumble, but inside these glass walls, the silence was sharp and dangerous. The massive iron frames of the greenhouse had been twisted out of shape by stray mortar rounds, and millions of tiny glass shards covered the stone floorboards like a blanket of diamonds. I stepped through the ruins without making a single sound, my heavy leather combat boots finding the clear patches of dirt between the glass with absolute precision.

The platform seems transparent but its appearance is comparable to a diamond's. It looks like a stage, a runway stage... This place looks like a huge garden. The whole venue was covered with curved transparent-looking glass. The glass is U shape and its ends are the two sides of the glass hall. The venue's entrance was also transparent glass but it looks like it could be transparent and tinted. Behind the glass, the venue was a waterfall with a cave underneath it. I don't know if those are artificial or not. The waterfalls water directly falls on the venue's top that's why the glass hall also had water running down from it on its outside and that water falls on the lake just beside the glass
