she gasped, her heart racing with anxiety. Kade’s eyes widened, understanding dawning in his expression. “You’re right. We may have to face our shadows repeatedly, but we can do it together,” he reassured her, his voice steady. As the shadows pressed in, Blair felt a flicker of hope. “We can do this together!” she shouted. “We will embrace the light within us and help each other heal!” The sigil pulsed with energy, casting a brilliant light that enveloped them, pushing back against the darkness. But just as they began to feel the warmth of victory, the figure transformed once more, becoming a haunting reminder of their past.

I just want to go back to the room for now.” Shadow looked at her with a furrowed brow. And when she looked at Shadow , she saw him giving her the same look. “Please?” She asked him. He finally sighed and shrugged, and said, “Sure, that’s fine.” Scar got to her feet, before she briefly looked back to Shadow and said, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I guess it was a chance I had to take. I frowned at the idea. What if I opened a door and Sinister was right there? Taking a deep breath, I took the chance. The hall was clear. Swiftly, yet silently as I could, I made my way towards a back door. I felt an icy chill run murderously down my spine as I made my way. It felt as if time was running out and my pace was slowing down. Gravity seemed to be pulling me back into the house and my body felt numb. This was the harsh reality of my situation now. As soon as I made a turn to enter the garage, I bumped into Someone.

I reach out, and as a shadow finger presses against the shadow of the nearest crow, it moves, as if affected. “I can see it,” I gasp, grabbing Arthur’s hand. The vision intensifies, their true forms becoming crisper, and cleaner within their projected shadows. I try to reach out again with my shadow form, but the crow’s shadow moves again, blinking away from me just as I am about to grasp it.

And human. He recoiled back. Human? And then Shadow said something that didn’t make sense but still filled him with dread. ‘Mine.’

“We’ll see.” The confrontation isn’t physical—but it’s just as brutal. The spirit forces me to relive my worst memories, every moment of pain and loss I’ve ever endured. But through it all, I hold onto one image: Shadow. His face, his voice, his promise to always be by my side. At last, the spirit seems to falter. Its form begins to fade, its voice dropping to a whisper. “This is not over…” With a final flicker of light, it vanishes, leaving the room in an eerie silence.

The shadow screamed as the light struck it, but it didn’t retreat. “You can’t fight it alone!” Eli shouted, rushing to her side. “I’m not alone,” Lyla said, her voice strong. The pack joined her, their combined energy bolstering the light. The shadow screamed again, its form weakening as the light grew brighter. Lyla felt the forest’s energy surging through her, stronger than ever. She focused all of it into a single burst of light, aiming it directly at the shadow’s core. The shadow let out one final, deafening scream before it dissolved into nothingness. The tree shuddered, its blackened bark cracking and crumbling away to reveal vibrant, glowing wood beneath.
