It's me, Aiden! The light around him flickered just as she extended her hand to touch him. Panic rising, she gasped, "No." The Return of the Shadow The shadow figure's chilly, familiar voice reverberated across the emptiness as the light completely went out. "Not just yet." With her blazing hands raised defensively, Iris whirled around. However, the voice, with its mocking and malicious tone, was everywhere. It growled, "Until you realize who you are, you cannot get back together."

I shivered at the thought of home. “Why, you’re chickening out already?” Shadowvale asked, staring me directly in the eye. “No, it’s not that. It’s just that…” I fought hard to let the word out without any emotions attached. “That’s good because I don’t expect someone with that much magic to be such a weakling, and you are not one now, are you?” he cut me off, satisfied with my initial reply, while expecting another. “No, I’m not,” “Great. You can return to your tent and prepare for hunting. We leave at dawn. We need as many hands as we can get,” I stood up and bowed slightly.

"He took my life, my identity, and now he's living with my name, my degrees. How can I just let that go?" I gave his back a comforting pat and met his gaze. "In a few days, when the weird end of days rolls in, we'll make him pay." Jim gave a small nod, his skin cooling down, no longer fired by my blood. Right then, I noticed something odd, the weak Haunts that had barely any strength were suddenly frantically feasting on my leftover blood. Their once translucent bodies filled with vigor as they started to circle and swoop around me. "I've got a plan!"

Then the Shadow looked at me one final time. “I’m sorry.” Before I could answer, its body became thousands of tiny silver and black lights that drifted upward into the healing sky. The battlefield stood in stunned silence as the last trace of the Shadow disappeared. The golden stranger watched the lights rise with quiet sadness. Then his expression suddenly changed. He looked beyond the repaired stars. Beyond the restored heavens. H
