The contact was casual, but the bond flared at it nonetheless, a spark of heat that had nothing to do with battle strategy.

“Usually, monsters present in the beginner’s dungeon are goblins and faughs. According to the activity, it is highly plausible that the flags are in the goblins since they are much more intelligent than the faughs. If there aren’t any unexpected creatures we won’t have to worry about our defense. What we need to do is a fast finish time and strategy to catch the goblin without much damage placed into us. As I’ve told you in the carriage earlier, faughs can be really sensitive to smell, especially wizling smell. Those rats are troublesome when they’re in horde so we better avoid confronting them.” Mikael strategized.

This place was truly different from our world, and everything about it screamed creepy. "So this is the inbetween." I murmured, continuing to examine the area. Just up ahead of us was a cobble street with wooden signs pointing the way to High Street where the main part of town for this place was located. It wasn't our destination, but it would lead to where we needed to go. To find the black market, we needed to find the Goblinaspur pub first, and then, only after giving the proper password would we be granted access. It was a bit of a trek since the pub was on the outskirts of town, so we really needed to get going.

I moved the glass closer and then away until I found the right distance to see the dot. “Looks like a compass rose,” I muttered, frowning. I was looking up at him when I caught a glimpse of another funny dot on that map. “Here’s another one,” I said, placing the glass above it. “Where’s that?” I tilted my head to both sides, still frowning. “I think that’s where the guesthouse is now.” “Look! Daniel squinted his eyes then carefully slid his head to the left until his vision cleared the tree, and he could see the squadron of goblins and trolls camped out in a clearing. Ever since they attacked Rosemary in the meadow, Daniel had grown very fond of exterminating goblins and was always glad to rid the North of the slimy, stinking vermin.

How do we get to that abandoned mine?” “Well, if you look at this map, it looks like there’s an abandoned mine at the base of this mountain here,” he explained, pointing to an area he had enlarged. “It’s part of the Goldfield Mountains, right next to the Superstitions. From the looks of it, I figure that’s exactly where the entrance is. But Hannah, you mentioned something about a cave-in?”

Owen noticed this and couldn't help laughing at her for getting all embarrassed. Soon Crystal was awake too and the four of them sat outside in the sunshine as they packed away their camp and had breakfast. While eating Xolvion pulled out a map that was marked with where the goblins had been sighted last, giving him a good idea of where their hideout might be. "We are getting close now," Xolvion said, estimating that they were only half a day's walk away from their destination. The others nodded as the realization that they were getting closer to saving their friend washed over their face and Owen took one final sip of his tea before standing up.
