Stalls lined the walls, selling everything from enchanted weapons to bottled emotions to something that looked disturbingly like human teeth. And everywhere, watching from the shadows, were the goblins. They weren't the cute, mischievous creatures of children's stories. These were beings that had evolved in darkness, with too-large eyes and too-sharp teeth and fingers that seemed to have one too many joints. Chapter Twenty-Six Anders Hidden deep within the castle, underneath the ground was a cave. It wasn’t really a cave as in the word, but a place that looked like one. Gargoyles were stationed at almost every corner making it look eerie. These gargoyles came to life once they sensed a Vampire within their territory, and each of them belonged to every Vampire in the Kingdom. I walked to my own. It was short, and barely reached my knees. Its teeth was bared in what was supposed to be a smile, but instead, it looked like a scary creature smiling at its prey.

But really, a good hacker had a million ways to make money, so he made it work. As we walked I grew more in awe. How the hell did he build all this? We came to a wall, this time he used a retinal scan to move a wall and we went down some stairs. I was surprised that it was this comfortably warm for how far underground we must now be.

We follow behind. A hidden cave lies behind the water, with shimmering crystals all around the entrance. She manages to stay completely dry, while Gabe and I’s coats are both soaked. There were no windows in here, the only source of light were glowing crystals placed around the cave. She leads us to the end of the cave, before pulling on a purple crystal. The cave's icy chill pierced my skin banishing sleep to a distant realm. Time elusive and intangible seemed suspended in this shadowy abyss. Around me fireflies flickered their glow a solitary beacon in the darkness. With the arrival of morning a whisper broke my silence though daylight never reached this subterranean world. An ominous wolf a creature more shadow than flesh stood before me. It grinned wickedly declaring the start of its malevolent game. "Today decides your fate" it taunted sending a wave of fear through me.

He was getting used to his human form. He flapped his wings. At least they still moved. "Prepare to die, gargoyle," the grotesque figure snarled. Her fetid breath washed over him, making him want to gag, but he wouldn't show weakness. He had a warrior's heart and if it stopped beating today at least it would stop in battle. He swiped at her, but she leaned out of the way. He hadn't ever encountered a goblin that had magical powers like this. Had they developed since he'd been in stone?

However, it was always considered a laughing matter. "Your grade is perfect. Is it still less?" wonder Crystall. "What about telling a story? Yesterday, I heard you tell Celine something to broaden her imagination," offer Noel. "Woah. You meant to? You think I bribed the professor to get good grades?" Celine is annoyed. Noel shuddered unconsciously, leaning against his chair, "It's possible." "Well, I'll tell you a story that inspired Celine's painting," Crystall took the book out of her purse and looked one by one at her students, especially Noel, "This story is about a mermaid, and a handsome man who found her in a coral cave."
