God Hunter Novels & Stories

From the delirium of pain that was inside his skull, Poe felt himself grabbed by a force he could not resist and lifted from the rubble and scree of rock that was his tomb. His shield failed him and he was the mercy of Hunter, who he saw Hunter as a specter within shadow standing atop a pile of blasted stone, arms akimbo and a writing sheath of darkness surrounding him with a thin filament of light at the outer edges of the darkness and a slim band of light surrounding him within the darkness.

I gasped and I fell to my knees in the vision, holding my own chest. I felt the pain. The man finally took off his hoodie and he smiled. Mischievously. It was him. The Hunter.

And still, that damn block on my wolf kept me from healing, from transforming, from accessing any real power. The first hunter appeared at the entrance of my man cave, if I could call it that. He was older than the others and had this air of a veteran. Tactical gear covered most of his body, but I could see his eyes through his night vision which were alert and wary. He raised some kind of weapon - it wasn't a gun but something else. "Calla Hart," he said. "Time to go home." I felt it then, that God damned feeling I've been trying to call since this whole freak show started.

“Are you a vampire, too?” I snorted, though my lips curled in disgust. “No, I’m not. I’m a hunter, Ver. I hunt supernatural creatures, monsters, anything that goes bump in the night, to keep humans safe.” “Monsters like me, you mean,” she whispered, fixing her eyes on the muddy ground.

Racing towards my teams trap I didn’t notice when he appeared Infront of me, skidding to a stop I dropped down and narrowly avoided his clutches, I rolled to the side jumped up and got close enough to my team to know that he was surrounded. Our target Prince Dagon was a ruthless killer and thousands of years old, not that he showed it. I braced myself for his attack, but he paused and looked at me, confused. “Why do you run from me? You are my Bride.”

At the center, the Archivist floats, her body a conduit for the void, her voice a siren song erasing warriors mid-swing. The Hunter loads his gun. "You sure?" I cock the storm-gun. "I'm done running." We charge. --- **The Final Verse** The Archivist sees us coming. "*Fools!* You can't kill a god!" "We're not here for the god," the Hunter snarls. "We're here for the *priest*." He fires. The bullet tears through her mosaic face, glass shards scattering. She screams, the void in her unraveling. I aim at the rift above her-a pulsating wound in the sky. The static in me surges, merging with the storm-gun's charge.

“I think so. I know not all hunters glow when they use theirs, so I’m not sure if the glow is from my gift or from the god part of me.” “Dorian, was there anything in the archives about a hunter glowing when using their gift? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that either.” Alpha Avery asks him. “Alpha, the only gift that causes a hunter to glow, is when the gift has something to do with seeing or ‘interacting’ with a soul. There are no hunters that currently have a gift like that. Any kind of soul gift is extremely rare.” Well shit. “So if I’m on a hunt, and I use my gift, I’ll glow and give away where I am. And any other hunters that are with me. That seems like the exact opposite of helpful

a child’s voice comes from everywhere and Gwanhoya hunts for the source where the voice is originating from. “There is no need for you to search for me,” lighting strikes near Mukura’s body. The boy in the golden robe appears on the spot with a fierce look on his face. He starts to head off to his room but I get in his line of sight and stop him first. “Kade! What the hell happened to you? Why are you so grumpy?” “Huh?” he asks, finally registering that it’s me in front of him. “Oh, sorry. Nothing happened, I’m not grumpy. Saw the rogue, but there was already a hunter on him and they took him down before he crossed over. That’s it, end of story,” he says shortly. “Really? And it was the same spot that the human was found at, right?”

" That's because Hunter is the name I gave him." I replied and the shocked look on Gideon had me wondering what it was I did wrong. " What? How is that possible? Then that means you are already…?" Gideon seemed to have come to some realisation, a realisation that shocked him and my frown deepened. " I am already what?" I questioned, wondering what Gideon was talking about. " He's a shadow walker,a shadow warrior Maya!" Gideon exclaimed.
