God's Menu Lyrics Novels & Stories

"Go ahead and eat. You need to take care of yourself and give yourself energy." He's right, and I do need to take care of my body. If I'm weak, I'll stay weak forever, and I need to get stronger to get out of here. “Do you have any news about him? About Thaddeus? Why am I stuck here? Can you please talk to me about it?!” He kept putting food on my plate but ignored all the things I said. He smiled at me creepily, and demanded. “Eat.” “I’m not going to eat this…."

"You're not going to get anywhere like that, young man.” The singer did not listen, or pretended not to listen, still playing with his head down. "I pray that you can do better than that down here, because, in case you haven't seen it, all the people you made your image, began to starve right under your feet, because none of us has enough to eat "he hummed, increasing the speed with which he fingered his guitar. "I believe in paradise, I believe in war, and I believe in hell. But the only thing I can't believe is you, dear God.”

“God loves every one of His sheep. He would never turn away a heart that seeks Him honestly.” The words hung in the stuffy air of the booth. Oscar was quiet for a moment. Then he said, “Thank you, Father,” and the screen door on his side clicked open and shut. I remained in the booth long after his footsteps faded, staring at the wooden panel in front of me and wondering what I was doing.

All my life, I had begged the heavens, begged for a name, begged for a home. Only now did I understand. A true home is the self. From this day on, whatever struggles may come my way, I stand firmly on my own two feet.

"Where was your mercy when Jude dug up my parents' graves? "Why didn't you go easy on us when he beat Piper half to death? "Did you even think about letting us go when he demanded that I get on my knees and lick his boots? "Now, everything's far too late!" I walked over to the unconscious Jude and whispered in the same tone he'd used to talk to me, "Don't worry. You're going to rot in prison until the day you die. You have my word."

"Just because you're a billionaire doesn't mean you're a God." "For your information Miss Grey, I am God." " You are no God to me...you worthless son of a--" " Complete the damn sentence and see what happens Miss Grey..After all, I am Wesley Cooper. I own the answers to all your wishes in this world." I gave out a mocking laugh. " That doesn't change that fact I'm going to break your nose right this moment if you utter another insane word. You chose to mess with the wrong girl..."

Although she would be doing so later with the rest of the sister’s, it never hurt to say one extra for good measure. "May peace and light wash over this land, in your name, amen." Amelia finished smiling as she turned and hurried along her way. "Our Goddess Mediocris, we praise thee." Sister Rosario’s voice echoed around the chapel. "Bring forth your light and let it wash down on all of us sinners. Let it bless those in its path, let it heal our illnesses, let it bring peace across the land of Pacificus." "In your name we pray, amen." The congregation echoed before rising.

She had the biggest grin on her face. "Swear down your waiting up for your man to finish work and then make him dinner? Who are you?" I chuckled as our food arrived. "I know right. Proper out of body experience." "I'm so happy for you babes. Like seriously." "Thank you."

" After reciting the prayer the choir brought a song by Lynda Randle called God On The Mountain . "Verse 1 Life is easy when you're up on the mountain And you've got peace of mind like you've never known But when things change and you're down in the valley Don't lose faith, for you're never alone And the God on the mountain is still God in the valley When things go wrong, he'll make them right Chorus And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times The God of the day is still God in the night Verse 2 We talk of faith when we're up on the mountain

But in our infinite trouble In our heart melting like the oil from a candle wax There lies the one, the king, the mother of all mothers The father of all fathers Him and him alone took us in There walked the king of kings The God of gods Him and him alone took us in Shelters us, fed us and clothed us. There smiled the love of all loves Saying, I will never leave you nor forsake you We are Ejima We cried, We screeched, we screamed, and the God of gods answered. Cause the sun to rise The heart that weeps shall sing The womb that was barren has given birth to the child of promise
