Golden Closet Novels & Stories

He turns us to the right. There the space is empty for the most part. A robe hangs on a hook by the door. At the end of the empty racks, another space for shoes takes up a portion of the wall. Three pairs of fuzzy slippers in yellow, green, and Giants orange are illuminated by the overhead lighting. We walk farther into the closet where a large white square dresser takes up the middle of the space. He pulls open the top drawer a small amount. There's a flash of pink before he closes it again.

“H-Huh? O-Okay…” Then there they are, dragging me inside a walk-in closet inside the makeup room. How many rooms do they have? And all of them were so big! Just like this walk-in closet, it’s full of dresses and different types of footwear. I wonder why there is a woman’s closet inside that demon’s house. Oh my God, don’t tell me he’s gay?! I knew it! He’s gay!

Where would Darius least expect me to go? I dismissed the bathing room immediately… too obvious. Under the bed? No, too easy. The closet. It was huge, filled with clothes and boots and various items. And in the very back, behind all the hanging garments, there was a small space where I could wedge myself. I dove into the closet, pushing past expensive coats and formal wear, and squeezed myself into the back corner. I pressed my body as far back as I could, making myself as small as possible, and held my breath.

"The service tunnels. The old maintenance corridors that run between floors. They're not part of the modern security system." "Where?" I demanded. "There's an access panel in the maintenance closet. My uncle works here, he showed me once. But you'd have to get to the closet first, and the hallway.." "Show me." She led me to the door, pointing through the window. "The maintenance closet is right there. Twenty feet down the hall. But the corridor is sealed at both ends." I could see it. The closet door. So close. But the hallway was already hazy, the ventilation failing, oxygen levels dropping.

"Where's the panic room?" "Here," Karl said, ushering the three women into Jozef and Shaun's bedroom. Fatima scooped up Fitzy and carried him. Shaun clutched her hot water bottle and obediently followed Karl. Her mouth fell open in surprise when he escorted them through her huge closet and opened a panel at the back. She hadn't noticed it before as it blended into the wall. He punched in a code and the back of the closet disappeared as a door swung open. "You didn't tell me you had one of these," Fatima said accusingly to her daughter.

Marcus stopped at a door directly across from Gavin’s office. “This is you,” he said, opening it. I looked inside. It was tiny. Barely bigger than a closet. A desk, a chair, and a window so small it looked like an afterthought. I blinked. “Seriously?” “Mr. Gavin felt it would be better for you to be close to the executive floor.” “In a closet.” “It’s not a closet…” “Marcus, it’s a closet.” I walked inside. There was barely room to turn around. “Where am I supposed to put my things?”

I squealed—almost forgetting that it’s only four in the morning. When I was about to shut the closet, I noticed a little note in neon pink on the other door. “Dear Mrs. Tyler Jane Moonstorm,” I blushed while reading. Why do people address me as I am a de facto wife of the Silver Pack’s Alpha? “This is only the closet where you put the clothes that you’re going to use for the next few days or what you’ll be wearing for the week,” I gasped while I continued to read. “The main walk-in closet is hidden behind the golden wolf statue. Just push the golden head and it will automatically open. Sincerely, The Grand Housekeeper of the Silver Alpha’s Mansion.”

Ledger said. “I'm not leaving your side.” Ledger said immediately, his jaw set. Ledger and I stopped by the old one. So, Rory and Jade went to the new door “Are you sure this is the right pick?” I asked. “Zeke doesn’t like flashy things,” he said. “He’d hide something valuable somewhere boring. Where nobody would look. Like a closet.” He wasn’t wrong. We pushed the door open. It creaked. Inside looked like a storage closet that no one had touched in years. The walls didn’t even match, like the painter had stopped halfway.

He ushered her out of the garage, leading her into an enormous duplex within the compound. Whenever Joel was furious, he would lock himself in one of the rooms in the duplex, drowning his sorrows in smoking and drinking. It took only Danielle's persistent pleas to bring him out whenever such happened. Part of the duplex served as a wardrobe, or rather, a closet. Joel guided Emily inside, inputting a passcode before leading her up the stairs. As she stepped into the closet, Emily couldn't help but gasp in awe. It was three times the size of her father's house. The closet was filled with designer shoes, bags, clothes, and an array of jewelry from Empire World.

“There are no sensors here either. To be honest, I don’t think he knows this opening leads outside. My mother definitely never told him. All of his alarms are outside of the room. As long as we don’t leave through the room’s actual exit, we should be fine.” As soon as we step out of the door, we find ourselves in a dank, dark closet. The brick walls are damp and grimy, and the floors are covered in a soiled, yellow shag carpet. I look back at the door and understand why no one would want to investigate what’s inside of the doorway. It’s an old rusty metal hatch that looks like it might open to a sewage pipe. I know I’d stay away from it if I didn’t know where it led. “Through here,” she take
