GOLDEN HEART

GOLDEN HEART

I didn't want to question her or make her relieve her bad past but her words sounded unbelievable. "I never knew you went through a lot sis, I'm truly sorry. As for Stacey, I recently met her at the hotel I'm in, and I kind of felt like she wasn't lying." I said softly. "That's what golddiggers do, they trick and lie. That lady is a professional gold digger who can easily manipulate you, so avoid her at all cost and stay away from her." she said. "Okay, thank you for making things clear to me. I will talk to you later, I love you." I whispered.

Mom Picked Her Golden Child

Mom Picked Her Golden Child

The recording kept playing while Mom's chest heaved with rage. She really didn't expect this—not from her so called golden child. "Katerina Kovarik, you better explain this right now! That $500,000—was I just being stingy?" "Didn't I give it all to you?! What, did my money just vanish into thin air?!" Her voice shook. "I'm telling you, if you won't take me back to Amiraka, then GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!" Mom shoved her hand in Katerina's face, yelling.

The Golden Apple He Stole From Me

The Golden Apple He Stole From Me

Second scene: Melora alone in her room. She muttered to her reflection, "More tears. You have to make them ache for you." Then, a cruel smile. "Stupid, stupid Kressa. Everything you had is mine now." Third scene: Melora sneaking gold from the temple. Giving it to the Harpy through a secret tunnel. "Mom, here's the money for this month." She smiled greedily. "Once I take over the temple completely, I'll give you more." Scene after scene played. Every frame exposed Melora's true face.

The Weight of Gold

The Weight of Gold

“Nothing good is convenient.” She crossed the workshop floor — four steps over sawdust and the smell of linseed — and when she reached him she thought of all the things she had been given in her life that she had never chosen: the name, the estate, the topiary spheres, the obligation and the silverware and the seating chart. And she thought of Marlene’s coffee, dark and honest, and the bottle labeled ghost, and the way he had smiled at her in June as if she had said something genuinely funny, which she had.

Called a Gold Digger, I Returned Everything

Called a Gold Digger, I Returned Everything

Coming from a poor background, everyone in Carl Humphry's circle assumes I'm a gold digger. Especially his best friend, Miriam Briggs. She claims she used to be one herself, so she knows my kind all too well. Desperate to prove them wrong, I spend three years with Carl without accepting a single expensive gift. Miriam just scoffs. "She says no, but deep down, she's just waiting for the man to make the first move and offer her something better. It's the classic play-hard-to-get routine." Then comes Carl's birthday. I've saved up for six months to buy him a watch. As I approach the private room, I hear Miriam laughing inside. "I told you she'd buy something pricey. Classic gold-digger mo

My Golden Moon

My Golden Moon

"Where'd you get this?" "Does it matter?" "Might if it's hot." "It's mine." Her voice cracked on the word. "It's the only thing I have left that is." He weighed it in his palm, then shrugged. "Room nine. And you'll want a phone, I'm guessing, looking at you. I got a prepaid in the back. Forty bucks." "Take it out of the diamond." He slid a key across the counter with a cheap plastic tag, then reached under it and came up with a small black burner still in its packaging. Celeste snatched them both without a word of thanks.

The Golden Dragon's Princess

The Golden Dragon's Princess

“In Fae. The herb is actually named after the Fae word, not the reverse.” “Yes, though I didn’t know that until the good-witch told me,” I looked up at him and smiled. “Though, apparently, it normally means little dragon and from the indication of this cavern, this dragon is not little.” “The Elvish word for golden is lyt etel,” he murmured, more to himself than to me. “Seers,” he added with a tone of disgust. “They all seem to hold aspirations to be word smiths. What else did they say?”

Leave it to Everleigh to make a person long for their own broody, sexy dragon. Seriously though, I couldn't put this book down. The world this author has created is so vibrant and fun it makes you want to dive in to the pages.
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

Violets and Ash

Violets and Ash

“I almost forgot. Luna Sylvia gave me this to give to you.” In her hand was a little golden name tag with “Violet” etched along the front in beautiful cursive. “A name tag?” I stated the obvious. Olive nodded, then leaned in like she was going to tell me a secret. “You see how ours is gold and how some of the other guests have silver ones?” She asked, waiting several seconds as I scanned the crowd. When I nodded, her lips thinned into a small line. “Silver means they have the rogue gene. Gold means they’re clear.”

I had trouble putting this down. Probably my favourite so far. Love the way the characters evolve and the interchange between them. Definitely not lacking in lots of plot twists and turns. Just when you thought it was safe… well done, Jane. Can’t wait to read your next books!!
Author K.C Rae
Absolutely beautiful writing, it’s been about a year since I’ve read Jane Doe’s work and I simply cannot believe how much she’s improved (not that she was bad/mediocre before). The story itself kept you captivated with lots of twists and turns, the characters were likable and spice was 4/5 stars

His Jewel

His Jewel

“I want to give you this...as a friend and ally.” Lucifer and Julius look at the bag curiously as I hold it out for Julius to take. He furrows his brows as I drop the bag in his hand, rubbing his thumb over the contents of the bag before opening it. I hold back a smile as his eyebrows shoot up in shock. “Is this what I think it is?” I smirk. “Well, this isn’t me proposing to you so...” Julius pulls out a ring with a square black gemstone. His eyes meet mine. “A Daylight ring? But how?”

Alpha Zaine’s Rejection

Alpha Zaine’s Rejection

There has been separation for too long, and to be honest, I’m intrigued by the moon magic they all possess. Each and every one of them has shaved the sides of their heads since I saw them last, leaving a thick strip of hair running down the middle. Those with longer hair have braided it, Torrin and Abernathy have included golden beads in theirs. The glinting gold design that runs from their jaws up their cheeks and over their temples, doesn’t stop there. The newly revealed skin of each pale scalp is covered in twisting golden vines and leaves. Torrin looks like he is descended from the heavens. The gold of his Gilded mark brings out the same golden shimmer in his eyes, and the sight is mesme
