The Rejected Healer's Retribution

The Rejected Healer's Retribution

It resembled heat haze over a frozen pond. Roric raised his lance, but Kael gestured for him to wait. "Don't waste the charge." Out of the gray mist emerged a wolf. But it wasn't an ordinary wolf; it was a Ghost-Packer. It stood nearly seven feet tall, made of a translucent, oily smoke that shifted and swirled. Instead of eyes, it had two hollow cavities filled with flickering violet static-the remnants of a soul deleted by Liora's "Link," yet refusing to leave the physical plane.

My Golden Retriever Is the Father?

My Golden Retriever Is the Father?

At our son's first birthday banquet, my husband, Luis Danforth, stood up in front of everyone and announced he was bringing another child into the family. Then his first love, Cathlene Richards, walked up cradling Luis's "illegitimate son." "Luis, thank you for giving our child a home." The room erupted into murmurs. My in-laws just nodded, looking relieved. The whole world took their side, calling me, the wife, cruel and small-minded. Luis crossed the room and threw a paternity test in my face. "Layla, sign it. Let him take his rightful place in the family. It doesn't matter how much you cause a scene. This is ironclad proof." I looked at the report, at the line confirming a "biologi

She asks eyeing the blue box with caution. "Got mine earlier. This one is for you." "But you guys don't know me and" "Open it babe." Taking the box from my hands, Robin opens is gently, and covers her mouth with one hand while the other pulls out a gold necklace with a cable chain that leads to a large pearl clasped at the end. "Ghost. It's beautiful." She whispers then shakes her head and looks away. "I can't. I can't accept this." "Robin." "I can't take that Ghost. It wouldn't be right. I"

“You fear me. That’s why you’ve been trying to erase me.” “I fear what you’ll become,” he said, voice darkening. “You are the gate. The final piece. The curse’s last vessel.” “What curse?” His smirk was venomous. “The curse of the First Ghost Wolf. She died here, betrayed by her mate—and her soul never passed on. She waits… and you are her reincarnation.” The air seemed to vanish. Kelvin swore under his breath. “That’s why the obsidian responded to her. It’s not a key. It’s a tether.”

Holiday flash Marriage with My Alpha

“You should’ve told me there was a dog!” “I forgot,” he scratched his head thoughtfully. “But you didn’t ask.” “Who brings a lion-sized dog into a house and forgets to mention it?” “He’s a golden retriever. They’re soft.” “That’s not soft. That’s a horse.” He laughed again. I looked down. My fingers touched each other. My chest felt heavy. He kept talking. “You should’ve seen your face. Like this—” He made a scared face. “Like you saw a ghost.”

He had heard of a talking wolf before, but not a talking dog. The dog stepped back and sat down on its butt. “Glad that you’re looking okay. Did you see any auditory hallucination in your view? Because you fell down pretty hard on your head. I just want to make sure.” The only hallucination I’m having is seeing you being able to talk. Shawn monologued internally while he eyed the dog’s moving golden tail that brushed the tatami floor behind it. The dog is that of a Golden Retriever breed; a big breed of dogs with slightly thin nuzzles and lustrous golden coat. The dog in front of him has a coat that looks like it has been taken care of very well. Was the dog perhaps has an owner? If it does,

Bingo. He grabbed his towel more securely around his waist and slipped outside as quietly as possible. G****e, his enormous golden retriever, was curled up on the sunbed beside the hot tub, snoring peacefully. The moment Owen stepped outside, G****e’s ears perked up, and he lifted his head, his big, sleepy eyes locking onto his owner. Owen pressed a finger to his lips. “Shhhhh,” he whispered, begging for silence. G****e tilted his head. Then—

and then leaves to get to work. I follow Xander down the steps. He turns right when we reach the second floor and waves as I continue down. I step through the patio door and begin to undress and place my clothes in a drawstring bag and then secure the bag around my neck before shifting. My wolf, Ghost is the perfect predator. His fur is white as snow, his eyes a piercing blue. His appearance lures people in with a false sense of security, but what you don't see from his appearance is the hidden monster within. Ghost is a vicious hunter and an even more vicious protector. Even some of our pack members cower at the sight of him in training.

A Time for Strength

A Time for Strength

“Come on, you big lug!” The giant half-wolf wriggles out of my grip into the car. He turns around, snapping and snarling at me until I slam the door closed in his face. I run to the driver's side and jump in. Ghost’s roar is deafening. He jumps into the back seat and lunges at me. I use my arm to hold him back by the throat while I race out of the garage. His paws swipe, trying to attack me. I slam on the brakes, throwing him forward. While he’s distracted, I push the button on the steering wheel and hear the little dinging sound.

I thought this was a great book. It was interesting to read the perspectives of other characters, allowing us to see what they knew and when. My only complaint is a seemingly awkward ending. Does anyone know if the author is ok?

31 Chapters 07/13/23 Yesssss Sugar Mama, you've got my attention. Love a baddie, strong female with a saucy attitude. I was so tired of these weak little damsels who need big Zaddy Alpha to save them. I was horny throughout FL scenes. Thank you for that.
