After two days of high temperatures and intense boredom, he remembered the three books. Sam pulled out the one with the Mummy on the cover, because it looked the most innocuous. It was entitled the Ninth Pan Book of Horror Stories. He wasn’t the least bit prepared for what he found inside. The first three stories involved emasculation, murder and burning at the stake. In his fevered state Sam felt he was not only watching the characters’ suffering, he was experiencing it along with them. He flung the book at the wall and then hid it again, wishing he could burn it like Jinnot, the young girl in the third story who was burned alive.

“Tell her we will help.” “Okay.” The Good Witch bent over and told her and she cried white tears. “She said she will wait here for us but we gotta hurry before the predators get to her.” The witch went into her cottage and grabbed a water sack. She filled it with the pond water and handed it to Isabella's father. Then they headed to the fire berry tree to see if they could pick up on the girls trail. Isabella found a wad of grey fur and the witch cast a spell called illuminate on the paw prints. They followed the trail past the fire hill of the fire fairies. That's when they heard the sound of the growling wolves. They had surrounded something. It was up in a tree. The Good Witch cast a fear

I had no choice, so I dug through every gift Zoe had ever given me, but I found nothing. Just when I was about to give up, I shook a pillow, and a tiny paper figure floated out. Its face was drawn to resemble Lucas, and his birth details were written on the back! The fortune teller exclaimed, “That’s it! The lock and the paper figure work together, and since you've touched the lock, the effect on you is stronger. Luckily, you found it early.” I broke out in a cold sweat. That same day, I slipped the paper figure under Miles’ pillow and instructed my parents to watch him while he slept.

I glanced at both of them — Kent tense and evasive, Holly hollowed out and dazed — then began explaining calmly. “Today was Halloween. The kindergarten planned a trip to the amusement park. Our class unanimously chose to visit the haunted house, and all the parents agreed beforehand. “This morning, Tommy did request leave, saying he couldn’t come. But in the afternoon, Mr. Spark brought him to the kindergarten, saying he had a date and it wasn’t convenient to bring Tommy along.” The moment I said that, Kent’s shoulders jerked and he lowered his head in panic. Beside him, Holly looked up in utter disbelief.

Maybe we can dress up this year lads.” Jasper sounded hyped. My brows creasing, “Halloween? That’s in a week right?”
