I had spent seven hours glued to one place without knowing. Those three handsome monsters will be the end of me. But come to think of it, they didn’t ask me to be digging into their kind.

His hand lifted, hovered just inches from the handle. If he turned it , if he stepped inside there’d be no undoing it. Not this time. He could finish what they started. Bury himself so deep inside that mouth, inside that want, that for a few hours, he wouldn’t have to think about betrayal and bloodlines and wedding vows. He could forget. But the thing about monsters was they followed you, even after the lights went out. And Rafael already knew, no matter how hard he tried to kill this thing between them, it wouldn’t stay buried.

Monster realized that he had lost his temper and forced himself to calm down. However, he could not help but ask, “Is Lil Thirteen dead or alive?”

He spoke out to the monster’s hearing. “What did you say?” the monster asked aggressively and moved towards Darrell a bit, his feet crushing the cave. “Destiny,” Darrell replied. The monster sighed “the wrong answer” He shouted and hit Darrell with his fist causing him to fall. Alyssa helps Darrell up to his feet. “This is your last chance, get it wrong and be squashed!” the monster said and jammed his fists together. Alyssa and Darrell put their heads together to think of the answer, “what do you think it is?” Alyssa asked.
