The monster was required to tell its victim its core rules. And those rules came in three parts. Being killed by the monster triggers a loop. The loop has a limit on the number of cycles. The monster can take human form. Three rules, neat and precise. As for the "extra" rule it had told me—that it could alter memories—that was nothing but a lie. The logic was simple. If every loop erased my memory, the monster had absolutely no need to tell me about the loop at all.

something long and veiny being put that deep into my mouth. He sucks his thumb first before biting it; blood spills out. Then he flicks the thumb in the air, and the blood rolls down. He turns his fingers in a circular motion, and the blood begins to twirl and increase. The blood on the ground is rising until it turns into a giant monster. My heart misses a beat as the monster head turns in my direction. The monster moves sluggishly in the direction of Jaden waves. When Jaden steps back, so does the monster. It's like a puppet he's controlling.

My height towering over everyone in the room. His eyes twitched. Just a flicker in his throat, a breath caught. A reminder that no matter how old or clever he was, he still felt fear. Good. I stepped into the full light, letting him see me clearly. Letting him remember what I was. He stood up as well, Darian Morvain not one to be intimidated. We were almost nose to nose, though I still towered over him, Alpha to Vampire Lord. Predator to parasite. My blood burned hotter. My hands didn’t shake. He was the one here asking for something.

I hate the look of my muscles all tense and stitched tight on my back. A lifetime of blows and bouncing back collects scars. I've had a lot of scalding showers, and bruises have become stretched and angry on me, causing pitted scars. There are no tears, but the groans come in multitude. As a monster, you learn never to accept pain. Pain only affects you if you let it. Black slacks. Black socks. Charcoal shoes are polished until they look like a crisp new apple skin. The shirt is deep forest green, which brings out the natural multiple hues of green in my eyes. Intentional. Gold flecks are juxtaposed in my iris.

How could they not be shocked? Mom was the first to react. She looked at me sadly and asked, "Have you decided to abandon us, Wendy?" However, Connor was filled with disbelief. He snorted, "Aren't you just trying to grab our attention by doing this, Wendy? You'd better tone it down. Don't end up regretting it when things go too far and start crying to come back." I looked at him without much emotion. "That won't happen. I won't be coming back here anymore."

All I could hope for her to be happy and never come back to this place . I got up from the park bench . The early morning sun didn't help much with the cold either. I smiled at how terrified Belle was of giving her finals . She had clung on the phone call forever to find comfort .It felt good to know that the things that scared her were as simple as that. I picked up my pace to the haunted place I was forced to call home .

Suddenly, the ground began to quake. As the growl of an unknown monster’s voice filled the air, the mountain split open, and a chasm appeared. Then, a massive horned head emerged from the valley. The monster had a large mouth with two rows of sharp teeth. A foul and foreboding atmosphere suffused the surroundings. At the sight of the monster, both Jules and Monica retreated slightly. Emperor Jabari immediately drew out a small amount of his power from the Celestial Abode.

He commanded and I nodded in assurance. Alpha Mobali and the supremes all shifted halfway as they fought off the monster, throwing punches at him. Changing back to human form, Prince Aidan, Beta Dwayne and Delta Kenan all brought out silver chains, swiftly locking it onto the monster's arms and legs then pulling it so hard that the monster growled loudly. Alpha Mobali unsheathed his sword, scraping it onto the floor before lashing the Monster right onto the chest. The Monster began to change back and who I saw broke my heart to pieces.

However, every once in a while, new monsters rise. ------ Rank 973 : Phantom Origin : Unknown Combat Style : Unregistered Description : A prominent black armored trident wielder. I tighten my grip on David and ask, "Your proclamation—what's the big picture? Where do you see this going? I'm curious, Alpha Nicodra. Do you have any specific ideas regarding how exactly you're going to resurrect our culture?" He lifts his glass to me and says, "I'm happy to hear your interest. My ideas are truly rooted in our conformity to a way of life that was simply not built on the beings we are. Frankly, Brigette, we are not human. In all honesty, we're monsters—at least to them, at least in our physiology." "Monsters," I repeat, tasting the word on my tongue.
