Seven Days of Goodbye
He used to be that orphan kid in a busted alley, living off the food I saved for him.
I loved him when he had nothing.
And now that I didn't love him anymore, he could go back to nothing.
He sat on Montedra's frozen streets, my photo in his hands, liquor bottle by his side.
Looking up at the moon, he gave this twisted smile. "If I die too... would I see you again?"
I stood behind him, staring at the same moon.
No. I never want to see you again.
Snow drifted down, soft and quiet. I felt myself fading, so I crouched beside him one last time. "Brian, stay alive a little longer. I don't want to see you yet."
