Goodnight Moon Novels & Stories

Drake Calloway still picked on me, followed by cold laughter from the other boy and the wolf. “Stop it, Drake.” Nathan came between us. “Why don’t we all go to the spring? I heard the Moon Goddess sometimes appears in the Full Moon.” “You still believe that bedtime story?” Bryan Waltz, the one with curly hair, chuckled. He patted the wolf next to him. “I think even Elliott no longer believes it—and he’s only ten.”

“Mama! Mama! My moon appeared last night!” Luna knelt down on the grass. The girl couldn’t be more than 4 years old. Her name was Hope. Because that’s what Luna had named her. Hope for the future. “Show me, baby,” Luna said, tucking hair behind the girl’s ear. The girl pointed up with a chubby finger. And there it was. A tiny new moon in the sky, just appeared that night. Pink like her favorite flower. It pulsed once, bright and proud, then settled into the sky with the others.

Amara said. She took the ammonite. She held it. She looked at it. She looked at me. She placed it in my hand. Her hand over mine. The ammonite between our palms. Both of us holding it. For exactly a moment. Then she took her hand back. The ammonite in mine. "Goodnight," Noah said. He settled under the covers. He closed his eyes. He was already most of the way to sleep. The lamp. The six inch gap. The hallway.

"Hungry Caterpillar. Wild Things. Good Night Moon. And... this one!" She held up the book James had given her—a first edition "Winnie the Pooh." "Good choices," I said. We read all four. Luna insisted on reading parts herself—which meant reciting from memory since she couldn't actually read yet. "The very hungry caterpillar ate one apple... but he still hungry!" "That's right, baby girl." After stories, tucking her in, kisses goodnight, we turned on her nightlight. "Mama stay?" she asked. "Mama is right next door. I'll check on you in a little bit."

Night fell gently over the mansion, casting delicate shadows along the corridors. Outside, the garden remained bathed in the light of the full moon, which rose majestically in the sky, while the chorus of crickets and the rustling of trees composed the soundtrack of that late hour. Upstairs, everything was already quiet. The children slept in their rooms, wrapped in innocent dreams. Each soft breath Zoe heard as she kissed them goodnight before going downstairs seemed to confirm that the world was at peace.

She ignored Roman for a couple of seconds as she pulled off her boots. "Moonmare." She replied, barely aloud. "You're familiar with nightmares right? It's almost the same as this one. The difference is that it isn't night… it's the Moon." Her mind seemed to hover as she rotated the little pointing wood in her palm absentmindedly. "Nightmare ends once dawn comes, but Moonmare doesn't." She regained herself and cackled. "I named it myself." A smug glint appeared in her eyes. "What do you think?"

Although with different spelling, but with the same pronunciation. Carra didn't know whether to feel lucky or sad. She was now in a country known as Morica in a medieval earth, under the Athurian empire. The Athurias are the ruling clan of lycans, wolf shapeshifters. In this world, there were humans, lycans, vampires and others. It seemed that she had passed through something supernatural, a portal or so, to arrive here. For a person who didn't believe in such notions, it was a bit difficult to accept. A woman in a brown garment came in through the door carrying a basin of water. She heard the young mistress called green bamboo, and she too quickly took a few steps forward. Seeing Carra awak

Running in heels isn't that difficult, I must say. I held a small box in my hand wrapped with some shiny paper and yellow ribbon on top, the birthday girl's favorite color. The only present that I could afford for her was this handmade pendant that was her name molded with metal wire, with a rose quartz shaped as a crescent Moon, fixed on the top of her name's last 'A'.

My therapist disagreed with me; he sided with Maggie. "Hey girl," Ardith, one of the more experienced nurses on our unit, greeted me as she planted her bags beside me. "Full moon is in a few nights; I'm still recovering from the last one." She chuckled, cracking her knuckles. I gave her a weak smile, "Don't remind me. That night was hell."

After all, all the words has long been silently said. I miss you so much, Celeste. You're always my moon and I won't stop looking at you. You're looks like a moons because of it's beauty. I always happy whenever I'm looking at the moon. A pretty moon. Happy 18th Birthday, Wife. I love you so much. You know my weakness is you that's why every night i cry and silently praying that you're still here beside me. I really missed you! I love you! —Basti
