The Wolf Hunters

The Wolf Hunters

Jennifer Colwellhuman wolf hybrid
As long as no civilians get hurt, we’re all good. Right now I need to take this rogue down before he hurts someone. My team caught wind of him towards the edge of our territory and I was hoping to take care of him before he got too far away. It seems luck may not be on my side today though. As soon as the alert went out I grabbed my go bag full of basic weapons and anything else I would need to take the wolf down and hopped on my bike. Since these jerks are so much faster than us, the dirt bikes even out the playing field a little. Very carefully I reach into my bag and grab the tranquilizer gun I keep in there. I speed across the game trails and over rocks trying to close the distance betwe

The Hunt For The Fugitive Bride

The Hunt For The Fugitive Bride

I wiped his tears asking, “If you continue to cry like this, your eyes will get blurry and make it difficult to search. Are you going to cry and come search with me?” He sniffed as he said, “I won't cry.” And started looking for the bird in my room as a start. While Brian was looking for the bird on the first floor, I came down stairs to look for it. I finished searching in the kitchen and came to the centre of the house to look for it. Mr Alarcon came in and sat on the couch as I continued looking for it. Mr Alarcon asked, “What are you doing? Did you lose something?”

Hunting for Midnight

Hunting for Midnight

Their bodies are found at the bottom of a ravine or in scattered pieces due to the wildlife taking advantage of a free, easy meal. My fingers slip away from everything I try and fail to grab at, wet from the rain. What does eventually stop me, is a large boulder when the side of my head smacks into it, knocking me unconscious. The sickening ‘crack’ sound of my skull connecting with the edge of the massive rock jutting from the earth shoots through every bone in my body accompanied by blinding pain. That's the last thing I remember before the world sinks away into darkness.

The Gray Ranch

The Gray Ranch

he asks while skewering me with his blue eyes. I look out the window at the fields that make up a small portion of Gray Ranch. They have so much acreage it is easy for enemies to ambush them. They have so many small pups to care for at the moment that they have left themselves vulnerable. Without constant vigilance and routine patrols, an enemy could surprise them easily. The scents from their livestock alone could help camouflage an enemy...

The Goddess Vessel

The Goddess Vessel

"Yes. The ridge overlooks the approach, but the dip behind the old willow is hidden. A small force could conceal itself there." "Correct," Lucas said, his tone that of an instructor confirming a student's correct answer. "It is a blind spot." Jaren's jaw tightened. "Then why is it there? The route is supposed to be optimal." "It is optimal," Lucas replied. He picked up his quill and turned the parchment over. With quick, sure strokes, he began to sketch a map of the western sector. "The blind spot is a calculated risk. The terrain beyond the willow is marsh. Impassable for more than two wolves moving slowly. A 'small force,' as you noted."

My Fated Enemy

My Fated Enemy

Drawing a sharp breath, I threw a few more kicks until one side of the tailgate broke. Carefully, I stepped toward the crack and looked outside. The forest road had turned into a battlefield. The rebel squads must have joined the fight since I now saw dozens of wolves lurching at each other. My breath caught in my throat. They all had come for me… I glanced to my left and right and saw no warriors guarding the wagon. I slid out through the broken gate and crouched beside the wheel. A silver arrow protruded from the ground a few feet away from me. I drew a deep breath before leaping forward and pulling it out.

His Mate, Her Savior

His Mate, Her Savior

I stop running, he has a point aside from Stacy and her friend we haven’t run into anyone. I crouch down and open my senses listening with my hybrid hearing, I can hear fighting off in the far distance in both directions but nothing close to us. I decide to use my hawk eyes to look for the boar. “What are you doing.” Blake asks. “Shh I’m looking.” I say and my eyes cloud over green while I look through the eyes of a hawk. “Found it.” I say snapping back to myself. “It’s by the lake.” I tell him and we take off in a sprint towards the lake.

Rise of the cardinal

Rise of the cardinal

“GO!” Lynn slapped the straps, and the horse pulled the wagon with force. However, it wasn’t taking enough speed. I turned around just in time to see the hunter dangling from the saddle, one of his feet stuck in the stirrup. I cried out when the hunter repositioned himself on his animal.

Wingless and Beautiful

Wingless and Beautiful

“Your move.” I turned to the screen. “Knight G1 to F3,” I called and then I watched my chess piece move on the screen in front of me. Hunter grinned and then he said, “Pawn C5 to C7”. The next moves we made actually amazed me. I wouldn’t even guess Hunter was blind. He knew where all my pieces were… like he was playing them by memory, which I think was… Genius! This guy could be a genius! In the end, I lost. To a blind person! When I thought I was probably one of the best at this game. He was staring at me, probably waiting for me to say something. He has an impish grin on his face that sort of irritated and challenged me.

Beautiful love story, one of the most unique plots I’ve read so far with. Very touching & emotional but still realistic. Also it’s rare plotpoint that Hero & heroine are each other’s firsts. Technically well-written - no grammatical errors! Wish there were more Hero’s POV, but loved it anyway.

Wow, truly beautiful story. Started out fast and kept improving. Cried a lot in the beginning (had to pause until I calmed down). Also, laughed at times. The characters were very mature and I’m glad Hunter and Alice were able to overcome the trauma in their lives. Well written. Worth reading.

Reborn As The Villainess Luna In My Favorite Series

Reborn As The Villainess Luna In My Favorite Series

"The northern elders don't give a damn about who’s down here. If Vance signed the vacancy papers, they're already moving the grain wagons toward the ridge." "Vance wouldn't move the wagons without his ledger clerks," I said, my mind trying to piece together the layout of the lower logs while my lower body continued to throb with a dull, heavy ache from the King's final thrusts. "The eastern clerks don't know the trail through the marsh. If they take the long road by the tanneries, the vanguard horses will be stuck in the peat before the second watch finishes."
