I nodded and moved away as Ryder and Ares faced off. **Ryder** The fucker wiped at the corner of his mouth. I was ready to end him. He knew I could. I could smell his fear. I had forgotten one thing though. Ares is the God of war, and he commands an army. He raised his palms at his sides. The ground shook as an army that was blessed by the gods started to fall from the sky. “Let’s see how you hold up against the soldiers of Olympus, kid.” Ares spoke.

He got to live without it, always following him like a shadow. "Exactly." I nodded, finishing my drink. "You aren't looking at it the same way as I am, Androkles." he sighed. "And how are you looking at it?" I cocked an eyebrow. "Born of lightning, we know that part is referring to being the son of Nikos." He began his breakdown. "A destroyer emerges. That could just be speaking that you would become Ares. As God of War, he is often seen as a destroyer." He pointed out that I'm finding it hard to argue with the logic.

Against his body, I hid my smile. All of a sudden, I caught a familiar scent riding on the wind and I pulled slightly away from Eros to track it. Like the heroic king he was, Ares prowled toward the gathering with victory gleaming in his eyes. He gave orders to some of his men and then began striding toward us. Our eyes met from the distance. Even though I said I didn’t care, I couldn’t ignore my body’s pull to him. I halted that treacherous train of thought.

Hopefully, she asked, "Did Grandpa send you to save me? He did, didn't he?" "To save a monster like you?" The man, clad in a black coat and mask, narrowed his eyes and chuckled derisively. "I'm not so low as to do that." Zoe's hope turned to terror as she stared at him, trembling. "Who… Who are you?" she stammered. "Me?" Leaning closer with an overbearing gaze, the man identified himself, "Me? I am Ares, the son of Zeus and Hera. I am here to serve justice."

"Ares?' I said with a cracked voice. I was dehydrated and tired and as I looked around the room I was in, I saw that there was no one there. Where is Ares? I tried sitting up but a sharp pain in my back stopped me and I let out a scream. The door burst open and Ares appeared looking tired.
