Cara I choked on air. Of all the things I expected her to tell me this was the most unexpected. I thought she would say something like ' you will live a short life', it would make sense considering the fact that I eat vegetables as much as dogs do. “My daughter, my demi-god.” I’m a demi-god? … pft Ahahaha kidding. I have always been interested in Greek Mythology but I don’t know much about them except of course the famous 12 olympians and my favorite was Athena of course, who wouldn’t? I have watched Percy Jackson, Troy, and Hercules. They really are awesome. Ack. It’s quite heavy, jeez. I picked it up and went to a table near the shelf. I started to read from the start and find it quite interesting. There are stories about the major gods and goddesses, and some stories about mortals. Most of them were love stories though.

Aliana’s POV “You’re little--- what now?!” I gaped up at him, wondering if I’d heard him correctly. Sure, I knew in theory what a Muse was – if I didn’t, my father would be thoroughly disappointed in me. I mean more than he already was… In Greek mythology, the Muses were the nine goddesses of the arts, literature, and sciences. They were the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, aka Memory. Zeus, of course, was the ruler of all the gods on Mount Olympus, the God of the Sky and Thunder.

The quaint houses, standing like obedient soldiers in formation, waited patiently for their owners to awaken and take on the day. And amidst this picturesque scene stood a grand home, its columns reaching up to the heavens like the fingers of the gods themselves. It exuded an aura of power and majesty, reminiscent of the palaces of ancient Olympus. Yet, despite its grandeur, the home possessed a certain charm and warmth that could only be felt, not seen. Every corner of the abode was imbued with purpose and artistic intent, paying homage to the great Hellenic culture that had birthed it.

Shadow listed all the familiar names. “The Greek gods…” Sabrina whispered to an astonished Cole. “That is surprisingly stupid.” Cole had no words to describe the stupidest action of them all. “No. Not stupid.” But Shadow had to support their claims. “Poseidon, the God who controlled the sea, Hercules… Ah… I don’t wish to list all of the stupid things. We had a few discussions we needed to do. That’s why I am here.” Shadow retracted her thinking from listing all unimportant stuff to stroke their egos.

Pheonix suggested and everyone turned to look at him. “Who is the Lord of the revival” Valerie asked quite confused by the name. “Well then, why don’t you all settle down and listen to this ancient tale of the lord of the revival’s adventure” Pheonix announced. “Theseus, great hero of Attic legend, son of Aegeus, king of Athens, and Aethra, daughter of Pittheus, king of Troezen in Argolis, or of the sea god, Poseidon, and Aethra. That seemed to surprise him. “Like Zeus and Hercules?” “Hercules is a Roman god, but very similar.” “There are different nationalities of gods?” he asked with genuine interest. I glanced up at Christopher who was obviously listening but pretending to be occupied with the fridge. “Yes, I suppose you could say that. The Greeks had Heracles, which is who Hercules was essentially modeled after. The Norsemen also had their own gods.”

He gave me a soft smile, making me return a shy smile. “You know, in Greek mythology, Althaia was the Queen of Calydon, and a woman of fierce passion. She is celebrated in an ancient story about the fate of her son, Meleager. When he was born, the Moirai, or the Fates in English, came to foretell his future, and they predicted he would die as soon as one of the sticks in the fireplace burned out completely. When Althaia heard that, she pulled the stick from the fire, put the fire out, and hid it in a safe place.”

FACT: Pluto, Plouton, Hades, and Lucifer are all different names used for the ruler of the underworld. FACT: Zeus is said to have dozens of offspring with both Goddesses and mortal consorts.
