She ran her fingers along the spines, the gold lettering cool against her skin. Drawn in by the sheer volume, she hesitantly pulled a book from the shelf, a slim volume bound in dark blue leather. The title was etched in silver: The Royal Grimoire of Sacred Oaths. She opened it, her eyes skimming the ornate calligraphy, the intricate diagrams filled with arcane symbols.

Jeremiah grabbed Armadale, opened the second page of his grimoire and showed the pestilence spell diagram that Armadale absorbed from King Victor cadaver. “My grimoire had absorbed the mana contained in King Victor’s body… and from this magic diagram, we can see that it's black magic, not fire magic, your honor.” Jeremiah tried to explain his theory, “as you probably may know, my father, Ethan Brownfur is a pyromancer, not a black magician.” But Aaron couldn’t believe the omega that easily, “How can we know that you’re telling the truth?” “I can show you how my grimoire absorbed the spell from King Victor’s body once I arrived at the Blackfrost Kingdom…” Jeremiah assured.

The writing was clear even for the age and weathered look of the pages. The pages yellowed to a golden shade, buttery soft, with a slightly brittle feel to them. “Well, if the first pages tell us anything. It’s a grimoire. If the title of the first page means anything. I just had to fine one for this. I have tried three cloaking spells from three different Grimoires and none of them worked. I think that it's because all of them are dated a thousand year back. I found one that dated two thousand years back and took one cloaking spell from it. The books in general have been helpful a lot. I now even know that even though I have my own power, I can still get more power, before we had witch wolves, we had witches. They were all just humans with incredible power.

I rounded a corner, turned left down a tighter row, and— Stopped. There, nestled between two massive grimoires, was a book that didn’t belong. It was smaller, wrapped in black hide, no title. A circular crest gleamed faintly on the cover, a silver wolf’s head bisected by a black sword, the same we saw in the tunnel the other day. I knew that crest, its Blackwood sigil. My lungs tightened. My hand moved before my brain could catch up. I pulled the book free. Dust billowed, I coughed hard.. My heart beat faster.
