A dance with the villian

A dance with the villian

The moment Hyperion landed, the ground trembled beneath him. His glowing figure stood in stark contrast to the darkness that swirled around me. I didn't wait for him to speak. The anger inside me boiled over, and I lashed out. My shadows surged forward, turning into thick tendrils that shot straight for him. They wrapped around his legs, tightening like iron chains, but Hyperion didn’t flinch. With a single flex of his muscles, he broke free, sending shards of dark energy flying in every direction.

HIS EMPIRE, HER HEART

HIS EMPIRE, HER HEART

LUCY I matched back into the room to replug my phone, then went into the Living room to find Aurelio awake, stretching languidly. God-damned it, this man is fucking hot. I noticed he'd showered and changed into flesh clothes while I was asleep. The white shirt and black jeans he wore gave him that simple vibe, and still made him look more stunning. He sure knows how to wear his clothes because he looks fantastic in both casual and office wear.

“We improvise it live.” Pauly handed her a slim, battered paperback—Mockingbird, cover worn, pages gutted to hold a wafer-thin transceiver and a micro-SD slot. “Your new copy. Same weight as the real one. Press the title twice if you’re burned; it wipes your last three hours and plays an audiobook. Press the author twice and it pings us with location.” She slid the book into her tote without looking. “And if I press the spine?” “It complains about being objectified,” Pauly said.

Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend

Stalked By My Boyfriends Best Friend

And no doubt, have hot dreams about it. It’s another book suggestion from her. I’ve just finished the last one she recommended, and honestly, I shouldn’t dive into another. Once I start reading, I lose myself completely. But this time, she’s telling me to listen to it. Audiobook. That’s new. Before I even realize what I’m doing, I click the link she sent, and in a matter of seconds, the book is purchased and playing through my home speakers. I settle back in bed, letting the narrator’s deep voice wash over me, and within moments, I realize Lucy’s sent me a stalker romance. Great.

“But this text does not.” A faint prickle runs down the back of my neck, and Leo’s chair creaks as he moves restlessly. “What does it focus on?” Callen asks. Ronnie takes a slow breath. “Remember how I told you about the children of Hyperion and Theia?” “Who?” Alaric finally speaks. “Hyperion is the Titan of heavenly light, and Theia is the Titaness of sight and ether.” “Okay, let’s all pretend that we know what ether is and get to the good part.”

Loving this book so far! Author, as many have stated in the chapter comments, 291 & 292 are repeat chapters from 283 & 284. Though I do believe they should be at 291/292 (makes more sense) and not 283/284.

this was the first story I read by this author. it was beautiful! I felt every emotion and got some crazy looks from my mate when I would start laughing or wiping my face because I shed some tears. it's definitely worth reading. I finished it in 2 days because I literally couldn't put it down

The Hybrid's War: Book 2

The Hybrid's War: Book 2

I took a seat and began to concentrate. “Hi.” I whispered to myself. “What’s your name?” There was silence, so to me, I was thinking there was nobody there. But, I heard something. Something that I have never heard before. Another strong heartbeat mixed with mines. I’m Luna… I’m the wolf that makes you complete.

“Nope. Shell is a card-carrying member of the audiobook and podcast book club. I’m pretty sure that if she had to actually read something not for school, she’d probably burst into flames.” “She always has books with her.” “Zack is an avid reader. She gets him the book of whatever she’s listening to.” Neo leaned in close to her ear. “He’s recently discovered the draw of the H. E. A. And if it goes the way he’s hoping,” he lightly nipped at her earlobe. “they’ll be writing out their own pretty soon.” “What?” Jolene squealed and then moaned as his teeth grazed against her neck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yeah, there's definitely an audiobook for 'Hyperion' out there. I listened to it last year on Audible, and it was one of those productions that actually improves on the reading experience in a way. It's not just a single narrator; it's a full cast for the different pilgrims' tales. You get distinct voices for the Consul, Sol Weintraub, the Priest's story—all of it. It really helps keep the Canterbury Tales frame narrative straight in your head when each character has a unique sound. The production quality is solid, no weird background noise or uneven volume. I found it easier to grasp some of the more dense, poetic sections when they were performed rather than me trying to parse them on the page. The Shrike's scenes are particularly effective with audio, just this chilling silence around the description of its movements. I'd say it's one of the better sci-fi audiobook adaptations I've come across.

One thing to note is that the sequel, 'The Fall of Hyperion', is also available in audio, but I think it switches to a single narrator format. That took a minute to get used to after the ensemble cast of the first book. Still good, just different. I know the whole Cantos is available across various platforms—Audible, Google Play, probably iTunes. Libraries often have it on OverDrive or Libby too, if you don't want to purchase. Well worth a listen if you're into revisiting classic sci-fi or if you find the print version a bit intimidating.
