I lunged forward, grabbing onto him. The heat radiating off him was scorching, his eyes wild and bloodshot, but the moment my hand touched him, a flicker of recognition crossed his gaze. I pulled him with everything I had, dragging his massive weight toward the narrow opening behind the unstable pile of rubble.
The moment his large paws cleared the threshold, I threw my body against the loose, crumbling base stones holding the mountain of rocks in place. I kicked the anchor stone with all my might, using a heavy branch to pry it loose.
