And people there's my mum always so straight forward. "My grand babies are cutest, so why not show them off. She hit her forehead head with her hand as if she remembered something. "Where the birthday boy?" she asked. "He should be here somewhere, I said looking around for Luca. I spotted him hiding behind the couch and smile. "Luca? I called, come say hi to grandma. He came and hid behind my legs, waving his little hands at my mum. "Hi, Luca am your grandma. Aren't you the cutest. she gushed. "Come on Luca, go to granny". I encouraged. He came forward and properly introduced himself.

My voice was hoarse, but I enunciated my words clearly, “Throwing a tantrum won’t help. The evidence is right before you. I kept a record of every cent you transferred to me. “Amelia, be honest. Don’t you know your family’s actual financial situation? “Do you really believe all the lies your mom told, or have you been helping her trick everyone else on purpose?” Amelia avoided meeting my gaze, and her expression kept changing. In the end, she flew into a fit of rage out of humiliation. “Does it matter if my mother lied? She only did it to make you look good and make others think highly of you! “You, on the other hand, are an ungrateful brat! You turned everything into a mess and embarrassed

Grace suddenly removed the hoodie she was wearing revealing a very visible baby bump, "Am five months gone" she told them, just then, a slap landed on her face from her mother "You little hoe, who is responsible for that bastard, who did this to you!" Mrs Crown's loud words made everyone uncomfortable as they looked at Grace who had began to cry by then, "Who is responsible for it!" Robert Yelled,

He decided to go and look for his wife after that. ~~ He saw Grace's car at his parents' mansion. "Where is Mom?" He asked the house helper he had just met. "She is in the gazebo, Sir Paolo. She’s with Ma’am Grace.” He was right, the car outside their house belonged to Grace. As he walked towards where their gazebo was, he could hear the hearty laugh of his mother and Grace. They both smiled at him as they saw him. "Mom." He calls his mom and kisses her cheeks. She was pointing at Grace as if she wanted her to kiss her too. But remembering what she did to Infinity the other day, and after reading Infinity's emails. She doesn't deserve such pleasantries.

Then he turned and walked out, guards trailing behind him. The door closed. Silence. I turned to Lucian, my composure finally cracking. "Did you see his face when he called me Mother? Did you see it?" Lucian's lips twitched. "I saw." "He looked like he was swallowing glass. It was wonderful." I couldn't contain my grin any longer. "This is the best day of my life." "You're enjoying this far too much." "Impossible. There's no such thing as enjoying this too much."

"Eva, please stop. Please listen to me. Please don't transform everyone. Grace needs mother who's human. Needs family that's recognizable. Needs—" I phase-shifted to Council facility. To room where Albert and Grace were contained. They looked terrified. Grace was crying. Albert was holding her. Protecting her from mother who had become something else. "Daddy, why does Mommy look like that?" Grace pointed at me. At the quantum energy that flickered visibly. At the body that was human-shaped but obviously transformed. "Why is Mommy scary?" "I'm not scary," I said gently. "I'm enhanced. I'm better. I'm—"

I take a large gulp from my wine and continue with my food. "Yes, There are." He returns. "Slow down child, you are going to choke at that rate" Melissa scolds in a fake motherly tone and I freeze, I look at them and raise a cold brow. "No manners," Gracie, the last born butts in. "You can't blame her, after all, there was no way her crazed mother could have taught her" Gloria adds, her voice laced with fake pity. I continued with my food. I'm definitely not in the mood to exchange words with them tonight. I'm almost done eating.

Grace's mother called out to her. "Mom, I know what you are about to say." Grace said to her mom, She really thought her mom was about asking her to extract money from Alpha Nelson Divine and bring it to her and Elvis. Knowing how wealthy he was. Not knowing her mother really had something important to share with her. Just as Grace ignored her mom and kept walking in the direction leading to the sitting room, she felt something weird; she felt like throwing up. Just then she rushed to a nearby restroom and emptied everything into the sink as she washed her mouth and flushed where she had emptied the content in her stomach.

a deep, furious voice suddenly boomed from the shadowed part of the room. “Three fucking weeks!” The words came again, louder and harsher this time, followed by something slamming hard against a table. The sound echoed like thunder through the air, and right on cue, a new light switched on in the shadowed part of the room, revealing the man sitting on a throne-like chair—Alpha Mateo, Griffin’s father. Beside him stood a masked figure, its hand suspended midair—the one controlling the girl. “Let her go, Ottis,” Alpha Mateo said sharply.

I wanted to move to him, but my brain and legs weren't listening. "What did you see?" He sucked in, and dear gods, Griffin looked furious as his eyes grew wet with tears. "My mother's body. It looked like she hadn't decayed at all." Oh no. Oh god no. Griffin was able to keep back from crying, but I knew he was hurting. His mother was his only parent. She had a soft spot in his heart, similar to the one I had for my family. I gripped my chains, and tried to say something comforting but the pain….. the pain was only getting worse.
