No trace left behind. On graduation day, I stood on stage as the representative of the outstanding graduates. In my graduation gown, facing the bright lights, I looked out at the sea of young, eager faces below me. My speech was simple. No fancy words. No grand stories. I talked about my college journey—how I went from a timid, lost country girl to someone who knew her direction and her worth. At the end, I looked at the crowd and said clearly, "We've all wanted to climb higher. To see bigger worlds and live more exciting lives. There's nothing wrong with that.

I peered down at the crowd, looking at all their stunned faces before adjusting the mic to my level and beginning my speech. “Thank you Mr. Cunningham. You know, before I get started, I just want to say one thing. Happy Birthday to me. Because today, I am not just graduating from this fine institution, but I am also celebrating my entrance into adulthood. To all the teachers and faculty that helped me to get here today, I just want to say thank you. I couldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for the accommodations and help that you have all given me to help me get here today.”

Still, she gave her speech. “Good morning, esteemed faculty, honored guests, proud parents, and most importantly, my fellow graduates,” Charlie began with a smile. “Today is the culmination of years of learning, growing, and redefining who we are. As I look around this hall, I see future leaders, visionaries, and changemakers, people I’ve come to know not just as classmates but as collaborators, confidantes, and competitors…”

Bella replied with a smile. "Let's head to the hall already before we miss the front seats, and I also heard that the guest speaker is handsome, I would not want to miss checking him out, Sharon suggested slutty, and as they passed by everyone in the corridors gasped seeing Bella on the dress, but she didn't care at all, it was only for today. "Welcome everyone to the sixtieth graduation, and I would like to thank all the graduates, and stakeholders so far, and today we are very lucky to have a guest who also studied in this university some years back..."The MC continued as several guests gave their speeches.

"Congratulations Graduates!" The guest speaker said into the microphone as the crowd cheered. Rebecca smiled and hooted with her classmates in excitement. She was more than ready to get the rest of her life started. Turning away from the crowd, she rushed for the exit trying to beat the others out.

Mira voiced out her thoughts. "You're right. But it's time for us to grow, and the time is now..." Kyle seriously stated. "I wonder what will happen to us in the next five years..." Mira spoke again. "So that's why let's hold on tight and get ready for the rollercoaster ride which is also known as "LIFE." "I couldn't agree more." ================== "Please give a round of applause for the student who earned the highest academic honor for this batch, Mr. Kyle Andrada as he will make his graduation speech!" the dean finally called Kyle onstage.

Aubrey was the head of students so, it was the final day in the school before graduation and everyone in the school was expecting for her speech before closure. * * “Ladies and gentlemen, as I stand before you on this important day in this school. I want to thank everyone for the competition and discipline that have been observed during my tenure. And I am grateful that everyone here believed in me and gave me a chance to serve you. As I finish my speech, I would like to recognize the presence of three students who joined us early in the morning for the final exam. I would like to extend our invitation to PROM. See you there. Thank you”

Dean Miller spoke, silencing the rest of the auditorium. “I’m glad to introduce our graduating class. Today marks the first day of the rest of your lives. This is where you put all your education and training to the test and expand in your individual careers. You will face many challenges on your road but with enough willpower, you will overcome these challenges and become even better versions of yourselves. I’m honored to have been working with you and watching your growth over these last 4 years. I’m proud of every single one of you and I know your families are just as proud of you.”

I smiled and followed up to the stage. As I sat on the stage looking at everyone, I noticed a face that I had never seen before. I do not know who he is but, he was an older man, and his face glowed with pride for some reason. While I pondered this my name was called to deliver my speech. I squared my shoulders, took a deep breath, and approached the podium. "Hello everyone, Esteemed Faculty, and Honorable student Colleagues, my name is Molly Fawns. Welcome, and thank you all guests for coming to watch the class of 1973 graduate today.”

The graduation ceremony starts officially with the Dean’s opening speech, and as we listen, I can’t help but look at him with different eyes now. I always thought this gray-haired, stern figure was a man of character and integrity. Now I have screenshots of bank transactions proving he's not. A few more speeches from faculty members come shortly after, focused on leading with honesty, integrity, and diligence in the world we're going into. I snort because most of them don’t, and after they’re done, it's finally time for the pre-presentation of degrees.
