Gulltown Game Of Thrones Novels & Stories

I was different. Ralyne was lucky though, her boyfriend wasn't from the slums. He was from Crimson Lake named after the red lake in the city, the home of the elites of the city. I didn't have much encounters with the elites per say except for a few good raids or during assemblies - an occasion of gathering before the council in city hall to discuss policies or new laws or to address issues - so I didn't really know how they acted. As Ralyne and I walked home, I decided to pay Philip a visit.

I had thought I would calmly expose his lies, but my body couldn't help but tremble as I spoke. "You disgust me! Since that's the case, I'm done playing this game. Go, be happy with her." Shane didn't expect me to know the truth, and he couldn't even form a proper sentence. "W-What do you mean, you're done playing this game?" "I'll leave this world. I won't appear in front of you anymore." A trace of panic appeared on Shane's face. He clenched his fists, but with so many people around, he still forced a smile. "That's got to be a bluff! Your mission's not complete yet, so your sister will die!"

The games start in an hour. He fished out his phone with his leather-gloved hand, texting Pearl. Roonie: Be at the game... You don't want another punishment, do you? He pushed his phone back into his pocket before walking into the gazebo, and as expected, the other members are already waiting. Hyce, Axel and Rebekah are in front of them, but they're not alone. The Titans are also there. Rue, Juliet and Romeo. Rook is on a bed in the middle of the place, almost lifeless and fuçking skinny.

Guards, armored and armed, watching warily. Rael slowed his horse. “Let me speak first.” Elior nodded. They approached the gate, and a voice called down. “State your business.” Rael dismounted, throwing back his hood. “I am Rael Cavareth, son of the true king. I seek an audience with Lord Dain.” A long pause followed. Then, the gates creaked open just enough for them to pass through. Inside, the stronghold was alive with tension. Soldiers lined the walls, watching with wary eyes. At the far end of the courtyard stood an older man with a scarred face and sharp eyes, Lord Dain.

The hunt was on. Despite its name, Seagull Road was about as far from the coast as it could be. It was on the outskirts of town, and since the hotel – The Heath, I thought it was called – had closed down, the few other businesses in the area had moved closer to the town and to the beach. As such, the road had a slightly eerie feel to it now – the endless stretch of grey sky above a few scattered houses, a long-since abandoned mini golf course, and an intimidating building with reaching Gothic towers at its centre did not bode well.

My hair is dull, having lost its shine a long time ago. But I am glad. I would choose this over staying in the tower anytime. Every morning I wake up before the other maids and roam the empty castle, listening to its numerous residents’ snores. I learn that the Beta and his mate, and their three kids live in the east wing of the castle near Theon. I learn that there are seventeen exits in total from the keep to the inner courtyard, and twenty-one from the inner courtyard to the outer courtyard. I learn that a squad of nine members patrols the grounds, passing the main entrance five times within one half-hour.

A cruel sort of poetry, considering what she’s walking into. I turn away before she can sense me watching. The castle’s corridors stretch ahead, whispering secrets in languages that are older than Nyxara herself. I have a script to follow, meet the players, play the fool, let a warrior guide them to their doom. Pretend I’m one of them until they start dying. But my wolf, Alister, keeps glancing back through the glamour. He is restless. The Game begins at sundown, which means I have a few hours left to remind myself what happens when I start to care. I’ve broken that rule before, and the price still stains these walls.

"Jojen, wasn't there a Wull who rode with Father during the war?" "Theo Wull." Joien was breathing hard from the climb. "Buckets, they used to call him." "That's their sigil," said Bran. "Three brown buckets on a blue field, with a border of white and grey checks. Lord Wull came to Winterfell once, to do his fealty and talk with Father, and he had the buckets on his shield. He's no true lord, though. Well, he is, but they call him just the Wull, and there's the Knott and the Norrey and the Liddle too. At Winterfell we called them lords, but their own folk don't."

When we walked into the summit’s hall again, Naomi no longer chased after us, but I could hear her tragic cries. Wendy glanced behind her and held my hand tighter. “I heard that Yvonne wants Lloyd to pay for all the damages, but he can’t, so he has been bothering Naomi. She’s now alone.” I stopped and hugged Wendy tightly as my eyes landed on the ruby ring on my finger. “I love you, and everyone else has nothing to do with me.” “I love you too.” I smiled. It was winter, but unlike the winter of last year, my heart was no longer cold.

[Atticus] Laz records the results, documenting this decision in the meeting log and we move on to the next element of the game--choosing the method. As last year’s winner, I get to choose. “I thought we’d go a bit ‘old school’ for this year’s game,” I announce as I stand and pull an old deck of cards from the pocket of my jacket. “Like Old Testament. How many of you know the seven deadly sins?” Evie yawns, stretching her arms above her head. “BOOOOORING,” she moans, opening her perfectly painted mouth wide. “Sloth, lust, greed, envy, blah blah blah. When did you get religious, Ace?”
