Seraphine gave a small nod. “Seraphine. But everyone calls me Sera.” Both girls leaned in almost immediately, their voices lowering like conspirators.

"Dammit! Seraphina!" Seraphina didn't hesitate. She leapt into the air, her red and silver aura trailing behind her like a comet. "Step away from my daughter!" she commanded, her voice vibrating with authority. She brought her glowing hand down, casting a bolt of pure divine wrath that struck the brute dead-on. The creature shrieked as it disintegrated into nothingness. Luna gasped, sweating from the exertion of holding back the magical traps. "Thanks, Mom. That was... a little too close."

We stood beneath the high windows as I stared at her. “What— “Shh,” Sera placed a hand on her lips, “they would hear us.” I blinked, standing with her. Eavesdropping wasn’t really my thing. I hated being excluded but if I was, I didn’t eavesdrop. This Seraphina seemed to be a very interesting girl. Her almost otherworldly hair shone in the bright light. Lavender silver. I didn’t think someone could have a hair color like that. She sharply turned to me, her eyes narrowed. “Did you hear that?”

Kiyan’s shock was written on his face as he started searching his contacts for someone we could call to smuggle Valora out of my room before something crazier happens. Her white robes shimmered like frost. “Tamar,” she said, her voice a mix of disdain and fury. “You dare stand here? You’re not welcome here. Leave immediately!” I stepped forward. “Seraphina Elowen,” I said, dropping her title like an insult. “Your reign ends tonight. Your plan of using the Moon goddess’ reincarnate to end the world won’t work.” “End the world?” Seraphina chuckled. “Goddess Lira isn’t a god of destruction. She’s a god of creation.
