My fingers twitched, searching, grasping the smooth, cold object hidden at my waist. A sudden heat flared through my hand. I didn’t hesitate. As Thorne’s blade came down, I thrust the crystal upward, screaming through the blood in my throat. “Burn, you bastard!” At first, nothing happened. The crystal lay in my palm, shimmering in the moonlight. Then it flared to life. Bright. Blinding. Blue fire erupted. Thorne recoiled, screaming. His skin smoked and blistered. He dropped his sword, staggering back, clutching his face. His flesh bubbled and peeled, and his robes caught flame.

Yellow robes. He looked down, and he grimaced at the sight of a sylph sawing through his right thigh. The blade was serrated, and it bit into muscle slowly, grinding as it went. Blood ran in thick streams, dripping steadily to the alcove floor. His knee was already crushed, caved inward as if someone had driven a sledgehammer into it again and again. Thorns—actual fucking thorns—were embedded deep into his upper thigh, pulsing faintly with magic. And in the basin below, he saw his severed toes floating in a shallow puddle of blood and rising steam.

"Who would dare look at my woman? I'll gouge their eyes out. How can you be so alluring, Lori? I don't even want to return to the palace whenever I touch you." Fiona silently watched as Michael started taking Lorraine's clothes off while dragging her into the house. She didn't take her eyes off the house until the candles were put out. Then, she laughed quietly before turning and leaving. She traversed the night alone. Suddenly, there was a clap of thunder. It was going to rain soon. Fiona had always been afraid of thunder, but it was as if she couldn't hear it now. She slowly walked along the dark streets like a soulless zombie.

But she knew one thing for sure: The heart beneath the thorn was bleeding. And this was only the beginning.

He asked, pulling me into him as if he could see easily through the chaos. Thorne groaned and a fire ignited in his palm — hellfire. It cut through the shadows revealing his face and body to me. I winced at the blood coating his flesh but couldn't see any visible wounds, "What the hell is happening there?" "It's bloody murder and I'm not sure when she'll run out of power," Thorne grunted as he pressed his fire into the shield causing it to instantly shatter, "I heal fast, though. She's going to have to do a lot more than shoot spikes made of water and wood at me to do actual damage."

The baby was struggling to breathe. Both Eros and Ula turned to Leila in shock. Eros began to turn towards Leila, but still couldn’t dodge the flying spear. It penetrated his body, inches above his heart. Thorn jumped toward his baby instantly. Ula followed. Suddenly, the ground began to shake vigorously, and a deep crevice formed between Ula and Thorn. Clusters of crystals lit up, illuminating the trench with a colorful glow. Then, they heard a deep groan, rumbling like thunder, and a pair of gigantic, molten eyes opened in the darkness.

Sparks flew with a deafening crash. Thorn roared furiously, and a brilliant light burst from his hand. "You've infuriated me. This is Holy Crane Fist. It's a Suppressing Technique that even martial gods are wary of. You're dead!" "Holy Crane Fist?" Chase's eyes narrowed. A ball of flame began to burn in his palm. He swung a punch the next moment and aimed it right at Thorn's chest. An explosion echoed in the air. Thorn screamed with pain as he flew off into the air. He was burned to a crisp all over. His chest had a dent in it, and many of his rib bones were broken.
